The 1856 Rock House did not disappoint!! Such a cozy charming piece of history!! My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Pella is a charming little town with lots to see and do!!
Nice little place on the edge of Pella made our trips back and forth to Lake Red Rock easy! The upstairs loft area does get a little warm but by the time the kids were ready for bed it was doable. Definitely would stay again!
The home was a great Historical place to stay. Close to Central College and a biking path. Everything was provided, i.e. towels, shampoo, body wash, Q-tips, toaster, microwave, etc. A caution for seniors -If there are more than 2 of you, you'll have to use the upstairs. The steps to it are very narrow - 6 inches. When we visit again, I hope to stay in this VRBO.
We had another excellent week long visit to Pella in general and specifically at the Rock House Property. The historic Rock House offers a relaxing blend of old and new. The pleasant weather allowed us to take full advantage of the patio and fire pit areas. The location suited us perfectly. Minutes from downtown plus a bicycle path at our door step. As cyclists, the location is perfect for exploring not only the city but the Red Rock Trail System. We highly recommend both the accommodations and the outdoor adventures.
The Rock House is the perfect mix of history with modern amenities! The house was perfect for our family and we loved the outdoor living space as well. We enjoyed how "walkable" everything in the area is and had a great time exploring Pella!
We have had the pleasure if staying in two different properties owned by Andrea in Pella Iowa. Both times we have been impressed by the hosts responsiveness and kindness even before our arrival. This charming Modern and cozy retreat is exactly that! The kitchen has everything you need. The coffee bar is a wonderful source of enjoyment. Though this cottage is small, it is so perfectly designed that updated that it feels bigger than it is. The location is perfect, we enjoyed walks around central college across the street. We spent days enjoying the Tulips in the square. The open views were beautiful for watching the sun and clouds move through the sky and fields. Thank you Andrea for a second wonderful experience.
Loved to stone cottage. Very well appointed. Bed was comfortable and good shower. Appreciated getting the history of the cottage. We had a liesurely morning in Pella enjoying a tour of the windmill and the museum.
The house was perfect for our family get away. We appreciated the comfort of the home and the location to many things. Would highly recommend staying at this house!
The historic cottage was perfect for a girlsâ weekend for my friend and I. We loved reading about the history and seeing all of the unique details in the home. I will definitely book this listing again if Iâm back in pella. I can see my children loving the attic room.
This was our 2nd stay at Rock House. Great location close to Central College. My twins love the upstairs bunk room though the steps are very steep- be careful in stocking feet. This tiny house was cozy on a cold and windy night.
A possible suggestion would be to add a mirror in the sunroom. It is a good space to get ready for the evening/day since the bathroom is so tiny. I'm sure we will be back again. Love the Rock House
My husband and I spent two weeks in the Rock House in Pella.
We highly recomend this site. Communication was good and the cozy cottage could not have suited us better.
We were sad to leave . . . .
