Perfect quiet getaway with plenty to do within a few minutes of the property. We absolutely loved the view, the grounds, pool, location, everything! Perfect place to stay for all the beauty of the area and avoiding the la fortuna crowds and traffic.

We had a fabulous time staying here. I would recommend it over any place in this area of Costa Rica. Views are stunning and you feel isolated and in the center of the forest. We will be back for sure.

Extraordinary home

We throughly enjoyed our family stay at this property. We explored the entire town but could not find a better view than the one this home offers right from the hot tub! Will definitely be back!

This property is absolutely spectacular. We stayed in the 2 bedroom unit. It was spacious and had everything we needed. Amazing landscaping all over the property with beautiful views. Close to the hot springs, lake activities, and La Fortuna. Thost happened to be in property

Home away from home

We have been staying in the Pie in the Sky houses for years, and we have turned on some of our friends to the place. Spectacular views and great birding right from the porch! Augustín has always been great to work with, and the new owner, Ron, is very nice. We will return again!

One of the most memorable places we've ever visited. The location, home and grounds were stunning, not to mention the hosts who were friendly and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. The location is close to the hanging bridges and about 15 minutes from the hot springs. It looks a bit out of the way, but we were happy to stay here once we arrived. The road between Tabacon and the property were easy to navagate. It felt like paradise and we hated to leave. I turned on a bird app on the morning of the 2nd day and within a couple minutes we captured 20 bird sounds; most memorable an Orange-chinned Parakeet, a Northern Emerald-Toucanet and a Keel-billed Toucan, which eats seeds from 2 palm trees just behind the house. The Howler Monkeys were active in the jungle, right next to the property. The host set up a telescope, where you can see the steam coming off the volocano.

Outstanding view!

Amazing view with meticulous grounds. Wonderful hot tub and lovely seating areas outside. Only downside are the uncomfortable beds and lack of bedside table lamps. Small complaints for wonderful stay!

Views of the Century

Can't say enough about the incredible views. Loved everything about this quiet location. We enjoyed the local food, activities, and scenery. The only complaint i have is that the bed was uncomfortable. I would go back.

The management.

Agustin, was really good He helped us with finding and booking some really cool tours. Filled us in on the restaurants and local sites. I would highly recommend pie in the sky. It’s a beautiful location with a beautiful view.

Property amenities and views amazing

The house was very clean, modern and spacious. The reviews on the beds are accurate: new mattresses are a must for this listing to continue to be successful given the squeaking of movement in bed. But the real jewel of this listing is the pool and hot tub and unparalleled views. It would be a wonderful property to rent out all three houses for a large group and even to hold a little wedding at.

Stunning Property and Excellent Customer Care

Our communication with Augustin and team in advance of our visit were great and their advice and attention throughout our stay were amazing. The photos in the listing don’t do justice to this stunning house and grounds. It is a bit off the beaten path but convenient to many activities. We enjoyed tours of the volcano, La Fortuna waterfall, and the hanging bridges. Add to that a half day of fishing on Lake Arenal, a coffee and chocolate tour and in-house massages! We highly recommend this property!

Best view anywhere in the world

I saw this Vrbo while planning a trip for my family ( 4 kids ages 14-22) and it was the reason I chose Costa Rica. It does not disappoint. You share the hot tub, pool and eagles nest with two other homes- but we never saw anyone else while we were there. There’s a great pizza place nearby- Howlers. We could share a couple of pizzas. From this home we did the la fortuna waterfall and Rio Celeste waterfall and did some kayaking on arenal lake ( super close by). We liked all of it. We also like el patio restaurant

Perfectly Wonderful

This property was just perfect for our family. The home was well equipped and clean. The property manager was attentive and helpful. The grounds, pool, hot tub and observation deck were wonderful and beautifully maintained for our family to relax and take in the incredible view. The view of the volcano was spectacular. We ventured to La Fortuna a couple times but it wasn’t necessary, El Castillo had all of the things we needed (zip lining, ATVs, hikes, etc) just within a 10ish minute drive. We loved everything about this property and our stay. P.S. if you stay here be sure to go to El Patio and try the Burria Tacos. Yum!

Magnificent Views!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pie In The Sky with morning beverages on the porch overlooking the lake and mountains. The house was well equipped and comfortable including the beds. A massage therapist came right to the house and was top notch. One guest had a hot stone massage and the other lymphatic drainage with a Healiing Hands massage. They both said they were the best massages they had ever had. She was the property manager's Augustin's wife, Maria. We enjoyed an early dinner and views of the lake an Volcano at Fusion Restaurant just down the street. The tower was wonderful to view birds in the early mornings and evenings. Augustin was very positive and helpful at the El Castillo Welcome Center. Pure Vida!

Pura Vida

We had the most incredible time here at Pie in the Sky II. The view seriously could NOT have been more spectacular. The house is lovely and the open-air style made us really feel immersed in the Costa Rican lifestyle. The grounds were immaculately manicured, and the pool and hot tub were cleaned daily. We saw so many birds just from our doorstep, as well as enjoyed the sounds of monkeys every sunrise and sunset. The location is quite close to so many activities and natural attractions. Communication with the property managers was great, and everyone was extremely welcoming and friendly. The other two villas on the property were both occupied while we were there, but we never felt crowded or had problems with sharing the communal spaces. Our only complaint is one that has been mentioned on several other reviews: the beds really are incredibly uncomfortable. They are very loud with every little movement, but the major issue is the mattresses are extremely thin and VERY hard. My older parents love a firm bed, and my husband and I definitely prefer softer ones, but none of us really slept well the entire stay. Newer, thicker mattresses would be a quick fix to remedy the one consistent negative review from guests. Everything else about the home was amazing enough though for us to still highly recommend this location.

We saw more colorful birds just sitting outside drinking our morning coffee everyday than we saw when we were in the national park. It was a beautiful place to be and walk and there was a great little cafe that we could just walk to From the villa.
