The historical aspect of the Inn was nice and staff very welcoming. The main lobby and porches, both with sitting areas were great to enjoy a quiet evening, cup of coffee & desert from the restaurant. Need to get those historical pictures up on the walls including captions if available. I was told by the staff there are lots of pictures, they just are not up yet from the prior painting. The room was small, very small & the bathroom even smaller, very much smaller. The shower was very, very small and the shower head had almost zero movement so that the water flow could never be directed lower than your shoulders. Even against the shower wall it was essentially chin height. Need to fix that shower head movement, it became a big complaint point for such a small detail. Breakfast each morning was lacking and not at all in keeping with the quality of the evening restaurant level. It was no better than a low-end chain hotel type of selection or even quality. Need to upgrade this in order to consider it anywhere near the quality you portray the restaurant.

The historic property was lovely. It was better than we expected as far as charm. The hot breakfast delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

Overall, a good stay. I would stay here again, however I would likely book directly to pick the room location. The Pros: Excellent restaurant, good breakfast, friendly staff, neat area, and a good value. The Cons: The hotel is old, and you could hear a lot through the walls, the bed was not very comfortable, and there was no where to plug a USB cord in to charge your phone (bring a block).

loved the actual key to use for opening doors/ friendly staff and large lobby for gathering (especially in groups)/ large sitting porches for relaxing. Room was small, and more like a b&b feeling to me...could use 2 trash can's in the room...1 for toilet and 1 for bedroom/ a brighter make-up light would be good/ a long dressing mirror would be good for checking before leaving to the event (wedding) / opened the shower window to let fresh air in (no exhaust fans in bathroom) It's a very cute place, and suits many people's needs in the Petoskey area...

If you like a quaint historic inn this place is for you. If you need modern then maybe not. The room and bathroom were very small. Bed was poor. Loved the hot breakfast in the dining room and the residential neighborhood.
