Everyone we encountered, staff or guest, was friendly. The atmosphere was calm, the village is beautiful - and an interesting mix of old and new.
Breakfast was also super.
Food vastly over priced for basic quality. Bar manager(?) running the bar & dealing with our book-in etc - he was very helpful. Alas the landlady who appeared early evening'ish was not really bothered having asked us if everything was ok the food, which I'd said was not particularly hot. Such a great shame as this old inn could be so much better - reduce food prices, even short term, to get some repeat customers! The room's bathroom door needs sorting out as it had to be fought with to close or open it. Really is such a waste as the bar area, almost devided into two, with open fire seemed busy enough with locals at the weekend. A decent sized dining/breakfast area. The stairwell area up to the rooms could do with a freshen up. Not the time of year to make use of the beer garden clearly on view was the big gas tank serving the inn as the fencing screening it had partly collapsed due to its age. Plenty of parking.
Good service lovely breakfast, and evening meal, but most uncomfortable bed, only one toilet roll when we run out had to ask for more, not the cleanest of rooms. Lovely old building, staff friendly.
Lovely room in an old inn.
Couldnât do enough for us. When we said would couldnât make breakfast, we got a packed breakfast made for us to take away.
Les points forts : Personnel et service et confort de la chambre
Short stay
Friendly and welcoming staff. Comfortable room but somewhat dated and smelling stale. Large bathroom with a huge walk in shower. Full english breakfast included. Felt slightly overpriced compared to other places we have stayed but was fine for a one night stay visiting friends nearby.
An adequate overnight venue but unfortunately my bed (room 5) had a very uncomfortable bed. Breakfast was good as was the service generally. The evening meal was OK but not special. Beer (6X) was good.
