The A frame was perfect for one and I could walk to the Picnic Bay beach in 5 minutes or catch a bus to any of the other beach destinations on this magical island. I enjoyed every minute of my stay.
The place was small but reasonably comfortable. I wouldn't care to stay more than a week though. Felt the place needed a thorough cleaning. The basket drawers, louvred sliding doors, glass louvres and open rafters all covered in dust. Little piles of wetted dirt in corners of the floor. I shifted the bed slightly to sweep and there was a lot of fluff and dust.. we were annoyed at interrupted tv reception. Enjoyed the visiting kookaburras and magpies who landed on the balcony for a feed. Close walk to the beach, pub and cafes.
We had a great stay in Picnic Bay. A quiet spot but very close to the beach/jetty, and resident koala around the corner! The brewery, restaurant and pub were all nearby, as well as the bus stop. The chalet was comfortable and cosy. The kitchen had the basic utensils and equipment for some simple meals. We appreciated the lift from Nelly Bay on arrival!
The bed was made with just a sheet, with some extra blankets in the cupboard. We would have appreciated if the bed was made with extra warmth as some nights were cooler. The chalet was also a bit dusty. The TV was in a bit of a strange position that wasnât very easily seen from the couch or bed.
