This was definitely a splurge, but we had an amazingly wonderful time! It was fabulous, we enjoyed having the private pool and beach area- used multiple times every day and all the other included bonuses were great too!

The heater went out on the pool. The fire pits on the pool did not work. Our hosts Jaun and Elda were fabulous!! The bathrooms upstairs did not have hot water, however. Overall it was a beautiful property and comfortable. I will highly recommend this property but there are some maintenance items that need attention.

Beautiful Property

This property was absolutely gorgeous and located near the heart of Placencia. All of the staff (chef, caretaker and house keeping) were amazing). We have stayed at many Gecko properties, and while we have loved all of them, this was probably our favorite property. I would highly recommend.

Unbelievably perfect vacation with Gecko!!! We stayed at Sand Castle Vista near the village and it was outstanding. The villa itself is beautiful- new and perfectly maintained, but what really sets Gecko Vacations apart are the people and service. We were pampered beyond expectation- chef, housekeeping, groundskeeping, concierge and everyone else on the Gecko staff - all were far above and beyond. We never had a want for anything. The staff worked so hard to make sure everything was perfect for us. The Villa, pool and beach were meticulously maintained. Every meal our chef made was fantastic - we asked for several of his recipes which he gladly shared. The response to any question or request was quick and thorough. This was our third time vacationing with Gecko and we can’t wait until we can do so again.

Already planning our return trip

We had such an amazing stay at Sand Castle Vista! This home has everything you could want and is close to restaurants, shopping and town. Gecko vacations made things so easy and were only a message away if we had questions or needed anything. The home rental came with a private chef and full time housekeeper who were amazing!! Already planning our return trip????????

Gorgeous Waterfront Property

Sand castle is as the pictures show, spacious, clean, modern with every convenience available. Pool and hot tub were very clean and well maintained, the grounds were meticulously maintained. If you’re looking for a home away from home stay here. All of this can’t happen without the staff, making it a worry less vacation and had taken care of all our needs during the stay!! Forgive the spelling error for names if any, Tatianna our house keeper kept everything immaculate from common areas to individual rooms and was very helpful with answering questions we had. Johnny our chef had everything prepared and taken care of so we had no worries for meals. Justin for yard and pool maintenance had everything super clean and ready to enjoy for all outdoor activities. If you’re looking for a worry free stay you’ll find Sand Castle Vista the ideal stay!

Amazing

This house is beautiful, spacious, and had everything except Kleenex. The views are very beautiful, the pool and heated spa was very relaxing and a short walk to town. Only negative was the dirt road when it rained.

Highly Recommend!

Our stay at Sandcastle Villa was a 5-star experience! Check-in with Dustin was smooth, thorough, and very informative. The villa itself was stunning, with ultra-plush beds that made for an incredibly comfortable stay. The housekeeper was both friendly and helpful, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. Despite some rain during our trip, we still enjoyed the fantastic amenities. Sandcastle Villa is the perfect spot for anyone seeking a quiet retreat that’s close enough to the village to explore, but tucked away for peace and tranquility. We highly recommend it!

Amazing

The house was beautiful, spacious, and had everything we needed except Kleenex. The roof top deck was perfect for sunsets. The housekeeper and chef were amazing and took very good care of us. We were a little disappointed that no one was at the house to welcome us when we arrived. The pool, heated spa, and beach were very relaxing. We found the people of Belize to be very warm and welcoming. You just cannot go wrong with this property!

The villa of my dreams!

My friends and I were blown away by the property from the moment we arrived in front! Tatiana, our housekeeper, was there to greet us with the warmest smile on her face. Every detail of of the villa felt so well thought out - from the faucets to wash our sandy feet by the beach to all the utensils and appliances that made our stay even more comfortable. When we weren't enjoying the incredible interior, we were soaking up the Caribbean sun in the gorgeous pool, tanning on the beach or taking full advantage of the paddleboards and kayaks. We weren't even out of Placencia yet and already ready to go back! Sand Castle, you'll be seeing us again????

Three-Stories of Sleek, Seafront Luxury

Sand Castle Vista is sleek and striking—exactly as expected. On arrival, Tatiana walked us through what to expect (including the small luxuries like daily housekeeping and grounds maintenance!), doubling as our first representation of Gecko and Belizean hospitality: wide-armed and warm. At three stories, this chic coastal bolthole was complete with views of the Caribbean Sea, regardless of which room you wake up in, with the fairy-light stringed rooftop offering 360-degree vistas of the peninsula. Sure, the walkout verandas from each bedroom felt like a villa within a villa, but our grown-up group was giddy at the sight of four bunk beds central between upstairs’ two masters, which I’d imagine would make this perfectly set up for a multi-gen stay. Airy and loft-style, this open-plan living space is both elegant and modern, but the real pull was just beyond the all-window water-facing wall: a glass-walled private pool (submerged bar stools included!), jacuzzi, water-sport toys, and of course, the Caribbean Sea. Perfectly set up for a week of play, the sea’s edge was the place to be; we even took full advantage by SUP boarding and kayaking at sunrise, with corn hole at sunset. It’s a stone’s throw from the action but feels like secluded havens far from the buzz of the Village, which I discovered was maybe an 8-minute walk to the strip/sidewalk after venturing out to a local cafe. Personal touches—from outdoor speakers and locally crafted Belizean wooden decor to included laundry service—create a feeling of exclusivity that sets Gecko’s Sand Castle Vista far apart from your typical vacation rental. Despite having neighbors, this was incredibly private. Check in, and you’ll be forgiven for thinking that, eventually, there’s a check-out time.

Cannot stop daydreaming about this place!

Two weeks after our stay, and Sand Castle is still the stuff of my daydreams. This stunning three-story home is modern elegance and comfort, creating a space that's both visually striking and livable. The heart of the home lies in its breathtaking floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a visual panorama that seamlessly blends the sparkling pool with the water beyond. Each room boasts its own private balcony - a thoughtful touch that provides intimate spaces for morning coffee or quiet time away from the common areas below. Despite accommodating large groups, Sand Castle never feels crowded, thanks to high ceilings that magnify the sense of space and freedom. The ground floor is a social butterfly's playground, practically begging to host everything from casual cookouts to lively beachfront gatherings (which we gave into quite willingly). A fully-equipped kitchen stands ready, while the deck area offers a BBQ pit and an array of beach games. Kayaks and paddleboards await, ensuring that boredom is simply not an option here. As the day winds down, the rooftop is the place to be. Whether you're toasting the sunset or engaging in a spirited game of pickleball, the possibilities are endless. For those rare moments when you feel the urge to explore outside the house, the charming town center is a mere five-minute drive away. Tatiana, our gracious host, elevated the experience with offers of laundry and cleaning services, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in vacation mode. (Thank you!) Writing this review has rekindled my desire to return, as the memories created at Sand Castle were nothing short of extraordinary. Gecko Homes has set a new standard with this property, leaving us reluctant to consider any other rentals. Sand Castle doesn't just meet expectations - it soars far beyond them, creating an experience that stays in the heart long after checkout.
