Everything about this stay was absolutely perfect, from the way we were greeted at the front door, the wonderful welcomers and the opportunity to stay in what is a museum.
It was a humbling enjoyable stay and we will definitely be returning next year x
I had a wonderful stay here. The property has a deeply fascinating history, and learning about it added so much meaning to the experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and supportive, they truly made me feel welcome. I really enjoyed my time here, and the city itself is absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend!
A little corner of England but on the continent. This is a unique property that almost feels like a privilege to stay in given the history and how it has been preserved. After a week on the continent drinking coffee, it was a massive relief to get a nice pot of tea served with a cup and saucer!!
Amazing experience hosted by volunteer wardens who could not have done more to make me feel welcome. Perfect location, bike storage, beautiful garden, and a museum and house tours to enjoy too. An amazing stay in a historic gem.
What a lovely experience, welcomed by the wardens with a kind and warming smile. Followed by a perfect guiding towards the bike shed and my room. The communal bathroom was spotless. The general vibe was as if I was in a bed and breakfast in the British countryside. The garden is so peaceful and could tell you a million tales...
I can't wait till my next stay.
Canât begin to describe what a great stay this is. A real experience, if you are doing the battlefields, then staying or visiting here is a must. Comfy beds, great facilities and good breakfast. Loft chapel is probably the nicest chapel or church I have ever seen mainly because of the emotion involved. Thoroughly recommend.
Booking for a family via hotels.com doesnât really prepare you for the museum experience you get here.
Our friendly hosts were kind and helpful. We loved the attached museum and the kids loved that the room was actually a âdisplay pieceâ too - but magically we were allowed to go past the barriers.
Iâd plan the restaurant in Popering in advance (especially with children).
Interesting and historic hotel with beautiful grounds and very comfy beds.
Comfortable bed. The old lady in charge during check in did not tell us that we need to pre order hot breakfast!! The garden rooms is noisy when customers check in upstairs
