Great concept for a getaway
Lots of growing pains for a new establishment
PROS: breathtaking location-especially in the summer, access to trails (though rocky and steep), water activities (for a fee), various outdoor spaces to enjoy including beach canopy, hot tub, and outdoor patio, decent kitchen with fair amount of kitchen equipment, beautiful views all throughout the house, 3 queen beds with a good amount of space overall, friendly and hustling staff, lots of privacy
CONS: huge amount of information all guests are responsible for knowing (40+ printed pages) that is spread out in various locations--email, vrbo mssgs, rental listing, making it confusing and overwhelming. Our boat shuttle was over 20 minutes late. Not a big deal if there wasn't a threat of a fee towards us if we were 10 minutes late plus no outreach of communication from staff when running late so had to call the office for info. Told ahead of time the sauna in the listing wasn't working so we'd get access to free water rentals, but when we went to dock to use them, staff had left an hour before closing hours. Lots of smashed bugs on bathroom surfaces upon arrival-yuck. Thin sheets. Shared bathroom toilet not working so had to tiptoe into primary bedroom at night for bathroom visits (not ideal for pregnant, non primary guest or primary guest). Nice gesture of late checkout but only 45 mins. Then asked for 5 star review for $5 off stay lol!
Suggestions: bug spray or citronella candles, clearer communication
