Nice historic hotel. Furnishings and decor dismal and doesn’t match the ambiance. Limited amenities. Bathroom probably the smallest I’ve ever seen in a higher end hotel. Price doesn’t match experience and is not competitive with other offerings in the same area.

The Benson was better than I could've hoped for

The hotel is beautifully maintained. Our room was clean, comfortable, and a great retreat between our activities. The ambience was lovely, we came back to live piano playing in the lobby after one of our dinner reservations. The location is very convenient. We were able to find delicious coffee, a bakery, shopping, and the famous Powell's bookstore all within walking distance.

We come to portland often, and we absolutely love to stay at the benson. It's a beautiful historic hotel, with lots of amenities and a great staff. Easy parking across the street. And lots of shops near by. There's also a lot of restaurants when then walking distance and the food downtown is exceptional. I highly suggest A stay at this beautiful hotel.
