GHT⊠Gorgeous Views, Mixed Service
This hotel is stunningâpicture-perfect with breathtaking views from the rooms and restaurants. I arrived late and was warmly welcomed by Michele, but my first dining experience at the â1957 Bar Bistrotâ felt cold. One young blond server was dismissive, and the manager, Luigi, forgot to pass on my drink orderâsomething I only caught by speaking up. I wish the front desk explained things upfront: no checks at meals (you just give your room number), you can tip directly or charge it to your room, and massages must be paid in cash. Details like these matter, and the staff isnât forthcomingâask everything in advance.
Breakfast with Rocco was lovely, and my massage with Stefano was outstandingâa must. Lunch at the beach was pleasant, though swimming access is by jumping in, which isnât ideal for non-swimmers. Housekeeping was disappointingâmy room never returned to the crisp, polished standard from check-in, which felt off for a hotel of this caliber.
My last night at La Cala delle Lampare finally brought the warmth I hoped forâthank you Rocco, Antonio, and team. Unfortunately, Luigi reappeared, accidentally knocking my belongings off the table and offering only his title in response.
Even with some odd energy, I still enjoyed my stayâthe property is breathtaking and Instagram-worthy. I may not return, but I do recommend experiencing it at least once.
Shoutout to Michele, Rocco, Antonio, Stefano, and Luisa for the bright spots in my visit.
