The pool was full of hair and trash the entire time we were there. The pool floor also needs repairs, as it has many uneven surfaces and small loose stones. The waiters aren't able to handle all the people at the hotel, and many are always angry. The food is ok, but they need more variety. A lot the people was smoking on the middle of jacuzzi pool and listen music which own speakers.

Really good stay except for the nagging agent who bothered us constantly about buying a membership (timeshare). He kept calling the room constantly during our peaceful times to try to bully us into buying the “membership.” Even as we were about to check out, he made a woman call the room to tell us that “we need to make the time” to see him to talk about the membership. Besides that, Samuel was great and Genesis! Samuel took really good care of us. It’s a very clean resort. Peaceful. Except for the nagging guy.

The hotel is outdated. The keys to the room kept getting lock the hotel said it was because you can’t have it next to your phone.so everytime I would go to the room I would have to walk back to the front desk so uncomfortable worst experience in a hotel I do not recommend this hotel

The best thing about this resort is the Staff, the staff is so welcoming accommodating and just amazing this is my 5th time coming to this resort and bringing not only my own family but also friends and we have all love the food experience in the resort! I have to say the resort is not fancy, is comfortable clean easy to walk around because it’s not huge, and is very typical Dominican culture vibe!! We love it and can’t wait to go back!! If the owners of this resort read this, please thank your wonderful staff from the ladies who clean our rooms to the bartenders the waiters and the amazing DJ at the club!!

Staff members were phenomenal in the Buffet Dining Area. Especially, a waitress named Leidy. She was super friendly, professional, and highly efficient. The bell boys were also very helpful and accommodating. The only complaint I have is the inability to make a reservation in one of the restaurants, which were not accessible during our three day stay. They were supposedly booked the very day we arrived and the day after.

To the Expedia Team, I am writing to share my experience during my recent stay at Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada – All Inclusive in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, from July 24 to July 28, 2025 (Itinerary: 73140043439664). Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I have ever had. From day one, there were clear issues with cleanliness and maintenance throughout the resort: • During breakfast at El Mercado, multiple guests — myself included — found hair in the pancakes and toast. The cook simply removed the items in front of everyone without any apology. • I also found a live cockroach among the supposedly clean dishes, which poses a serious health risk. • Most concerning of all, there were cockroaches in the room itself, which I recorded on video. • The decorative fountain at the main entrance was dirty and neglected. • Overall, the resort appeared old, worn down, and poorly maintained. As for the service, it was equally disappointing: • I had to call four times before they finally brought an extra bed for my sister. • While asking for a spoon during a beachside activity, one of the staff members rudely replied, “find it yourself.” • The general attitude of the staff was unprofessional, disinterested, and lacked basic customer service standards. In addition, the resort allows local visitors to bring loud speakers, creating a chaotic and noisy environment — far from the peaceful, relaxing experience I was expecting.

I liked most of the staff especially the concierge Lucy. I did not like that they put me in the old section of the resort with many things not working. After I complained as soon as I saw the room in the afternoon. They said that they would move me the next day. I had to stay the first night in a terrible room. The next day They gave me a room on a newer section as I had paid for a premium room in the first place. I had to move my own luggage. Not satisfied with this treatment. could have done better. I have stayed at many Iberostar resorts and have had fine treatment and nice rooms.
