Our recent stay at this enchanting rental was nothing short of magical.
From the moment we arrived, the breathtaking views of the crystal-clear waters and lush surrounding forests left us in awe. The house itself is a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort, seamlessly blending into the stunning natural landscape.
The interior of the home is beautifully designed, with large windows that let in ample natural light and offer unobstructed views of the water. The kitchen is well-equipped, allowing us to easily prepare meals while enjoying the picturesque backdrop. The beds were very comfortable, and even though the weather was very warm, we did not find it too hot in the house.
One of the highlights of our stay was the private deck that extends over the water. We spent many hours lounging here, watching the eagles hunting, and the seals and sea otters frolicking nearby. The direct access to the water meant we could easily indulge in kayaking ( we brought our own), making the most of the serene surroundings.
The location is ideal for those seeking tranquility yet remains conveniently close to local shops and dining options. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and attentive, their thoughtful touches and local recommendations made our visit even more special. We especially loved Open Bay and Rebecca Spit. Whether you're looking for relaxation or adventure, this gem on Quadra Island will exceed your expectations. We canât wait to return!
The house is very well equipped and very comfortable. Its in a very quiet location on the Island of Qadra, reasonably close to shops/amenities.
But the best thing about the house is it's built overlooking an estuary and has a fabulous deck area. We spent a lot of time sat watching the wildlife - Bald Eagles, Sea Otters, Seals, Mink, woodpeckers to name a few.
Beautiful place to stay. Very well maintained and everything working. Clean and comfortable with all the amenities and friendly hosts with good recommendations and quick to respond to questions. Watching the seals breakfast in the mornings was a bonus.
We so enjoyed our stay and wished it had been longer. The cabin is well equipped and a lovely mix of rustic charming and modern amenities. We saw harbour seals and otters every day and enjoyed watching the kingfishers and various boat. The owners were very responsive to any of our questions. Quadra Island is gorgeous and just a short ferry ride from Campbell River. We hope to come back.
Well-maintained family cottage on the water. Great spot for wildlife viewing (we saw whales in the bay). Immaculately kept. Handy location for both Q cove and Heriot Bay. Hosts easy to reach and helpful.
We had a fabulous stay. We were supposed to go to Ucluelet, but had to change our plans last minute due to wildfires. Absolutely, 100% thrilled that our plans were disrupted. Quadra Island is a gem! So much nature and wildlife right from the back porch and even more with nearby hiking and boating. Mark was a great host with near instant response time. He made several excellent recommendations for food and activities, and made sure we had everything we needed. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. Everything we needed was right there ( even little things like adequate cords/plugs, kitchen and cleaning supplies, extra blankets etc.). A huge plus was the firm, comfortable beds. Thank you so much Mark! We hope to come back someday soon!
Our family of 5 plus small dog stayed here for the long weekend in May. The property is spotless and has more space inside than the pictures show. Fireplace is new, appliances are new, washing machine and dryer are new. It really is a beautiful place.
Mark was fantastic at notifying us of restaurants opening for the season during our stay as well as negotiating discounts with local businesses for our leisure. It was almost like having a concierge the whole time.
Sunsets are great off the dock and the property is safe for kids and dogs. There is a smaller rock beach part of the property that our kids spent hours playing on each morning.
The house is located close to amenities but it feels like youâre âmiles awayâ from it all.
One of our favourites so far and weâre definitely staying here again!
I was saying to my wife as we were packing up to leave that this was one of the best places we have ever stayed at, period. Stunning views, a private deck and shoreline, a clean house with everything you need. The hosts were very helpful and quick to respond to any questions I had. Can't recommend enough.
Easy check-in, host was immediately available when we had a slight problem. Property was as shown in the pictures, large bedrooms and living area, beautiful scenery. House was cozy and our stay enjoyable.
Perfect location for a quick family getaway over the winter holidays - this property is truly as lovely as the pictures suggest - pristine waterfront, private forested setting, warm golden wood construction and interior finishings, cozy fireplace and lots and lots of windows to watch the world go by. Very comfy beds and pull-out couch. Everthing in like-new condition. Lots of lighting and easy to keep warm with very responsive base-board heating in every room. 10-30 min drive to lots of great hikes (Rebecca Spit, Cape Mudge Lighthouse, Shellalligan's Pass), and 5 min drive to the shopping center (Tru-Value supermarket was surprisingly well stocked with lots of high-end products and has a liquor store!). Only regret was it wasn't swimming season as it was so tempting to dive off of the large dock into the crystal clear emerald waters - will definitely have to come back in the summer to swim/kayak/paddleboard! Mark was a lovely host - we felt welcomed and well-prepared for our stay, and he was lightening quick to respond to text. Three thumbs up :)
My parents, husband and I loved our stay in this comfortable vintage home, very private, and furnished with many thoughtful touches. We spent most of our three days on the big deck with the BBQ, watching the wildlife and enjoying the view. A 5-min drive to the ferries, groceries, and restaurants. Mark was a super friendly host and very quick to respond when we had questions. This was a "staycation" for us (we all live on Vancouver Island), but it's a perfect slice of Gulf Island life whether you want to explore the island with the help of friendly locals, or just stay put and relax as we did.
The photos of this property do not fully capture the wondrous natural beauty that surrounds this amazing property. The home was as described plus, plus, plus! Communication with the owners was fantastic from start to finish. We couldnât have imagined the home would be so perfectly set up and roomy. Everything you need is provided - just bring food and drink. We saw Otters, Deer, Eagles, Seals and Dolphins all from the house and deck. The deck⊠and the dock⊠take the experience to a whole new level. We canât thank you enough for the great stay!
If you want to experience the ocean in all her glory, this is the place. The view is stunning and ever changing. We loved watching the boats and sea planes, fishing from the dock, seeing seals and otters. It just doesnât get better. Home is lovely and comfortable. We enjoyed exploring Quadra island, swimming at Open Bay and Main Lake as well as the lighthouse and cultural centre. Mark was an excellent and welcoming host and helped arrange salmon fishing for my husband and cousin. LOVED it and will be back!
In every way, from first contact with our super friendly hosts Mark & Brenda, to our warm welcome, throughout our entire stay and our reluctant leave taking, Harbourhouse was nothing short of fantastic. Every detail had been thought of & provided for our comfort. The deck and dock were ideal cool & shady or sunny favourite spots and ideal for viewing wildlifwater traffic
