We stayed in the family quadruple room on the ground floor and loved that we didn’t have to carry our luggage upstairs because there is no elevator. The garden was nice and everything is walkable, the hotel is just some minutes away from the Frontenac. The room is clean and checkin was smooth. Highly recommend!

Wonderful location, but hotel has not been updated

The staff at Hotel Dufferin was amazing. They were very helpful and accommodated us with all of our questions and needs. The hotel is old and has not been updated inside. The room was clean and the location is wonderful, but the beds were incredibly soft (difficult to sleep on) and the shower was so small (and the door did not shut) that you could barely stand in it, left alone shower comfortably. This may have just been our room. I feel that they need to update the interior of the hotel.

I wanted a more "local" experience because this was our first visit to Quebec City. My travelling companion, my teen-age son, and we wanted to enjoy as much local flavor as possible. Imagine our delight to find that we were on the boardwalk and as fun as that is, it could have been quite noisy. Because of the old building, no sound passed through at all. It was quiet and relaxing! The staff is undeniably the kindest and most outgoing I have ever experienced. They were genuinely concerned with making our stay one to remember. The common areas were lovely. A Kitchen and outdoor seating area well shaded and pleasant day and evening. The onsite parking we paid for was extremely helpful. As space is limited I would suggest leaving the trucks at home and opting for a more compact vehicle. My only notable recommendation for future visits is that a room or two that are dedicated "no scent / perfumed products" would be extremely helpful. The staff was generous in trying to solve the issue for me, but these products used in bedding and carpets do hang around. Those of us that have compromised immune systems are highly effected by these chemicals. The beds were too firm for my taste, though a large assortment of pillows helped with this. All in all, so long as we can get a scent free room, we will definitely be back!

Location is excellent and we ended up with front window overlooking Dufferin terrace and river view. Staff was very accommodating and even provided free tickets to summer festival concerts, held just a short walk away. Building is obviously old and not renovated recently, but was very clean.

Hotel Terrasse Dufferin is exactly as I expected. The location is amazing. It is central to old Quebec, and just about everything is within a 15 min walk. We got lucky and were in town for a fireworks evening, which we could watch from our room. The property is small, as was our shower and toilet area, and the rooms are a bit dated, but we had plenty of space and it was clean and comfortable. The air conditioner in our room was perfect for hot, humid days. The beds are quite soft and I was a little worried when I first sat down, but we all had great sleeps and found them to be more comfortable than expected. Waking up and making coffee in the room while looking out at the river and boardwalk was awesome. There was a basket of snacks in our room that was refilled daily and had muffins, chips, granola bars and some candy, as well as juice in the fridge. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location for seeing Old Quebec

Our stay was wonderful. It is a charming old building and the location is perfect for exploring the old city. It certainly doesn't have the amenities of a modern hotel, but allows you to enjoy the look and feel of a former time with incredible views along the boardwalk. Our hosts were amazing and we were able to get everything we needed even with reception open for limited hours.
