This place was AMAZING! The villas are great! Modern and clean, well equipped and comfortable! Great service, very laid back and relaxed while feeling upscale at the same time without any stuffiness whatsoever! I would definitely recommend staying here and would come back in a heartbeat! Love the history as well.

The staff members I interacted with were friendly and efficient. I had difficulty finding the hotel reception area and no one was there when I finally found it, though someone arrived quickly. It seems the restaurant and hotel were staffed by the same people and the restaurant held priority at that time of the day. The room was clean and had everything I needed. I appreciated the water heater and supplies for a morning cup of tea. The water in the shower was lukewarm and never got hot. My room was cold when I arrived. I was able to turn on the heater and it warmed up by the time I was ready for bed. The outside area is beautiful.

Cardrona was the loveliest hotel experience in 4 months of travelling Australia &New Zealand. Grounds were beautiful, room was clean and comfortable, food was excellent and staff were absolutey wonderful in how hospitable, helpful and friendly they were. You cannot go wrong if your are able to treat yourself to a stay at this wonderful hotel.

We stopped by this hotel on the way to Christchurch from Queenstown airport. About half an hour drive. I almost suspected that there was a hotel in the area where I did not see any houses. Then this hotel showed up. What a pleasant surprise to find thus fine hotel with beautiful garden which I think was comparable to the Botanic garden we went to the day after. The roses were gorgeous. We took quite some pictures in the garden the second day. Definitely a must see on the way to the east of Christchurch!

Great atmosphere being next to the courtyard pub and beer garden. Nice deck outside our room which we sat and had drinks of. Bonus was the use of the spa pool. We visited in peak season, but it didn’t feel too overcrowded or busy - just a nice overall feel

This hotel is the BEST! Me and my partner have been travelling for a little while and this is the most charming, cosy, and characteristic hotel we have stayed in. It was brilliant. Firstly, the staff are all lovely. We were given recommendations for local hikes in the area (diamond lake and Rocky Mountain trail FYI - insane!!!) and the meal was 10/10, tender and tasty lamb rump and amazing croquettes. We stayed 2 nights and ate here both nights, really delicious. The room was so cute and decorated so tastefully. It was comfortable, clean and had gorgeous views of the area. We even got a little balcony area which was a bonus and just lovely to sit on. Laundry and amenities were spot on too. I absolutely raided the gift shop, I wanted to buy everything. The art work around the historic hotel and restaurant was amazing. It was such a special stay and unbelievable value for money. I will make sure I get to come back to visit this hotel again in the future! It’s left a mark on me - honestly one of my favourite places in the entire world. Thank you so so much.
