This is a great location, with several restaurants nearby. The staff were almost all helpful, but one or two seemed annoyed to be asked any questions.
If you need ADA or have trouble with stairs, I wouldnât recommend Alma Vida. The hotel has steps everywhere and is located in a hilly area.
The onsite restaurant is fantastic (vegetarian fare) and the staff were awesome.
The property lost power several times during our week long visit, but never more than an hour. We also lost water usage for about 12 hours.
We used two of the pools several times. They were kept at a refreshing (cool not cold) temp, but are in need of some repairs.
The exterior of the facility is well maintained, but the interiors feel a bit dated and could use better maintenance. On our last day we also discovered a large opening in a nook that led from our room to what appeared to be an older staircase to the room above. Had we found it earlier in our stay we likely would have asked for a different room, as it felt like easy access to our room.
No, falto televisor. Se fue la luz. No tienen luces de emergencia en ningun lugar del hotel. Suoer oscuro y no habia una sola luz en escaleras, patios. Pudo haber muchos accodentes. Con la lluvia, apagon y falta de servicios de energencia.
Pools were great, grounds well kept but many may stairs. Rooms very small. Could use a shelf on bathroom to hold supplies, need an ice machine or a couple
Of them. No fridge in room so should supply ice. This am, breakfast at 830, no bacon, no hashbrowns.no fruit. So many people waiting,
Amazing, especially compared to the mid range price. Unbelievably comfortable and welcoming all things considered. Good complimentary breakfast as well
I give the hotel 2 stars. It looked like the hotel was about to close. Had a pool bar but looked like it had been closed for a long time. The menu in the restaurant was vegan. It showed healthy on the website. 1 large bath towel per person. No hand towel, no washcloth. Nowhere to put your toiletries in the bathroom. Advertized yoga classes but was no longer offered. Itâs unfortunate because the hotel looked like it had a lot of potential.
We initially had to move rooms as there was such a large gap between the door and the outside that there were lots of ants and crickets in the room. The rooms are also very small and there was no hair dryer or hand towel. There was a generator on the roof of our room so it was also very noisy. The staff were friendly and very helpful and the pool was nice. Breakfast was also good especially if you need dairy or gluten free options.
Loved it. Clean, nice pools and they fix everything you ask for (transport, guides, yoga etc). Yoga classes was included in our stay. If we are going back to Costa Rica, we would come back here as well. Recommend!
If your looking for a quiet peaceful stay, this hotel is for you. There are little amenities and no TVs. Every morning there is guided meditation at 0730 jrs and different classes such as yoga.
Unfortunately, the rooms are mouldy. We are told that thatâs what you get in Costa Rica. We had switched rooms and even went to look at a couple others and they all were in similar state. Iâm very sensitive/allergic to mold, so it was less than ideal to say the least. The second room that we stayed in some renovations, as there was paint or caulking on the mirror and countertop.
Breakfast was fair at best. It was served at a vegetarian restaurant in front of the hotel. Honestly, I donât think they know how to cook eggs and bacon.
The staff were very friendly and pleasant to deal with. Location is great. Right near the restaurants. Not too far from the beach.
The hotel grounds are gorgeous. But STAIRS BEWARE! If you have trouble with stairs the whole layout is multiple layered with stairs up and down. It was
The property is BEAUTIFUL. Friendly staff. For the basic rate you have your own private cottage. Great price. Centrally located to most attractions. There are large gaps in the doors and windows and you are in a tropical setting, so creepy crawlers can get in. It is important to know there are no TVs in these rooms and no refrigerators, but they were able to upgrade me to have same for an additional fee. Free classes (yoga, etc) you can register for and free breakfast at restaurant in hotel...not bad! Also has vegan options.
