Very clean and comfortable

We had a very nice stay at the Bru Guesthouse. The location is close to a lot of attraction but feels secluded, with a nice outdoor space and even a grill. The cabin was very clean and comfortable, with good bedding. The only issue was the check-in process. We spent a good 30 minutes after we arrived sitting in our car and trying to figure out how to access our place, because none of us received an email that should have provided the cabin number and door code (there were 2 separate reservations). We had to look up our reservations through hotels.com and send a message (and the response is it can take a couple days to respond). Eventually the owner waved us over to his house to give us the info, and said his emails are blocked. I can only imagine how confusing this must be if you arrive at night and in the dark.

This place was situated in an open field. The windows allowed for optimum viewing and we were able to watch birds and see the moon come up right from our beds. So relaxing and exactly what we were looking for.

I think this property was great. The location fit our travel plans perfect. My only complaint is the door lock was the worst. So, as we are freezing trying to get in...the dead bolt will not work. 15 minutes later we get it open. As we get in, we find that your suppose to hold the handle up then turn the dead bolt. But...when we run to the waterfall we can not hold the handle up and lock the door. 15 minutes later it just somehow works. Please change locks and door handles. Otherwise...i'd give this place an excellent.

I love the little cottages, and the owners of the property were were helpful. When we got slow leak in the car tire they even helped us give the tire a pump. The only thing I think that needs improvement is that the internet connection is painfully slow and the television was an older model that we could not link to our phone to stream a movie

Such a unique living experience. Living in an own personal hut near the mountains is such a great way to be in the nature. Private parking available. There is limited hot water in the room but this is a given when living more off the grid.

This was exactly what I was looking for quiet, cozy, and isolated. Stepping outside the cottages to see the northern lights was a dream come true. For me, it’s a five-star experience, and I’d happily stay here again on my next trip to Iceland. For those who need to know: the hot water is sufficient for standard showers, but if you tend to linger, you might want to keep that in mind. Otherwise, it’s an absolutely wonderful place."
