Check in was easy, our room was ready for us, very clean, fireplace on, warm and cozy, we were greeted by our host and given a tour of the property and a complimentary ice cream! Then I was informed that there is no fishing at the âfishing suitâ! Those lakes are private! Much to our disappointment, my fault tho, I shouldâve asked before I booked. There were other lakes very close by, (a short drive) where the fishing was great. Caught our limit each day! I would highly recommend this place to someone looking for a little R&R.
This property was clean and accessible. Marci the owner was AMAZING and we have already booked another weekend. This is definitely are new to go place in Red Feather
Marci, Arnie, and Linda were all incredible people! The cabin was clean and in good condition, the property is beautiful and a few minutes drive from plenty of lakes and hiking trails. The food and the service were all great we would 100% recommend and will be coming back
We had a lovely stay. The suite was in the perfect location to serve as a home base while we exlpored the Village and nearby trails and lakes. Our host greeted us warmly upon our arrival with fresh water and even gave us some great advice as to where the fishing had been good recently. The advice paid off and we had a successful fishing day!
The cabin smelled of smoke from the guests next door. There was food crumbs on the floor and not very clean. This cozy cabin was very overpriced. The kids liked the bunkbed
Out dated look like they are remodeling some of them ares was not this is were it seems like the app and the owner is not on the same page were booked one cabin and when we got there at 3 pm check in time right on time all the cabins were full and someone else was already
in the cabin we were supposed to be getting so we got the wrong cabin it should have had a Queen size bed.But the manager went out of his way to accommodate us
Cabin on the lake but both lakes within walking distance are private. You can walk around them but the locals will give you a dirty look like you donât belong there. There are nice areas in the neighborhood to paddle board within driving range but you might as well camp nearby. The cabin was a step up from being in a tent but there was no WiFi and thereâs trash all around the house. Not worth $200 a night. We stayed for about an hour then went home. Not impressed.
The hosts were very nice and tried to get anything we asked for (like a baking sheet for the kitchen). Itâs a short walk to the main town for a tavern, library and general store. The hosts were very knowledgeable about things to do in the area as well as the regulations for the different lakes. Thereâs also a Lionâs Club park nearby. The accommodations were disappointing. The room smelled very musty and there were so many flies inside. At night we could hear critters chewing on wood in the roof. The grounds were very dirty and we worried about the dogs and kids getting cut on glass walking around. The shower leaked so the floor was wet and smelly. We all ended up with stuffy noses and were taking allergy pills to sleep. There were signs that the owners are trying to upgrade and improve the space but it was difficult to relax in the current state. The room we had was not pictured in the listing, that one appeared more renovated than ours.
Had a good time with my son and friend on a fishing trip. Good location to hit up a bunch of lakes. Owners are super cool and have a neat store right next to cabin.
If you are looking for a lodge with all the amenities, this is not the place for you. However if you are looking for a place to stay that is homey and quaint, I would book again. Not everything is perfect or sterile looking but it was unique. I would say itâs like a hunting lodge. You have a bathroom and a kitchen, that are adequate. I always felt welcome and the property manager is easy to communicate with. All needs are quickly met.
Property wasnt very clean . The pictures are very misleading. our room had a mouse running around it. It was very cramped room. the only good thing was the water was very hot. The owners were very nice though.
A little more effort would make this place better..not worth the price.
I thought the owner/manager was incredibly nice, but not very good at communicating. It is located in a great part of Red Feather Lakes, a lot of conveniences within walking distance. As for the actual accommodations, this place is rugged and perhaps not fairly priced. Its all of the little things that add up to a feeling that you paid too much. Not enough silverware, no salt and pepper, we had to buy some from their general store, very thin walls. The outside pics are a bit misleading. It was just a little junky/messy. I sincerely feel that with a little effort, this place could be so much better and I wouldn't have felt like I was paying way too much for the space. I hope the owners will read this and make some simple changes to make this a better place to stay.
Marcy, the host, had just taken over the property and there are renovations that need to be made that she is working on. It is an historic property set in a beautiful, scenic location. The lodging was dated, but clean. The beds were comfortable. Plenty of parking. Short walk to the cute little town, and her "shop" had everything from camping gear to hardware, to a lovely little ice cream shop. (I recommend Bunny Tracks.) She was pleasant and knowledgable about the area. She recommended a good local restaurant for dinner.
Negatives- Was not given contact number or even name of the resort before arrival. No one was at location to check us in at designated time. No breakfast provided as promised first 2 days. Lake it is next to is private and must pay to use. Room was about half the 800 sq ft advertised
Pros- clean cabin & comfortable bed
