We loved staying at Mark and Ericaâs place! They have a thorough guidebook for the area and even gave us a lovely sâmores kit to kick our vacation off right :)
We all loved this property. The house was so cute and clean with all the amenities. The backyard is amazing. We had such a relaxing stay. Thank you. We hope to be back.
We had a relaxing and fun week catching crabs, fishing, canoeing & kayaking. Family played corn hole, chess, giant jenga, and used the fire pit to make sâmores. House had everything we needed. Thank you Erin & Mark!
This is a great property and well equipped for an enjoyable vacation in the Northern Neck of Virginia. We travel with two Havanesse and it was perfect for all of us. Beautiful setting.
What an amazing getaway! The house had everything we could possibly need: well-stocked kitchen, spacious bedrooms, tons of games, and even an incredible outdoor chess board. We spent hours kayaking and crabbing right off their dock and playing outdoor chess. Mark and Erin went above and beyond, even providing thoughtful touches for our dogs such as treats, leash stakes, bowls, and plenty of yard to explore. It was the perfect mix of relaxation, fun, and comfort. We would love the opportunity to come back!
We really enjoyed this place. From the moment you enter this house you can tell that it is well loved. It is beautifully decorated, very comfortable and clean. We had everything we needed, and more. We spent time on the porch, paddling kayaks, watching the herons.
My sister and our spouses and children got away from DC for a long weekend. This place is a piece of paradise. We had six people in our group which is the right size for this house. We were outside almost the entire time, trying to fish/crab off the dock, sitting at the firepit, or going for a row in the numerous kayaks, canoe or paddle boat. Very peaceful neighborhood and we appreciated being able to bring our dog. Would highly recommended. Did not have any issues with the house and good communication with the owners. Well stocked kitchen. Full size W/D. Would love to see a hot tub for future visits.
Went for spring break - weather was colder than we hoped for but a beautiful property with all the amenities! Very peaceful, owners attentive. Would definitely go back again!
We loved UpYonda! Erin and Mark are so nice and easy to communicate with. The home is beautiful and there really is everything you need there. The suite upstairs is beautiful and huge!! The view of the water is amazing and the wildlife was stunning. We saw a fox, Blue Heron and got video of an Otter rolling around in the snow on the dock! The stargazing is fantastic and we made a snowman. We loved it.
Our family enjoyed another amazing stay at UpYonda. The views of the water, night sky and sunset/sunrise were breathtaking. The fireplace made the home cozy and warm, especially with the cold winter air! We hope to come back soon!
We came here for a 4 day weekend around the oyster festival. The house was perfect, the location was beautiful, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything you could possibly need and more. I would like to come back again during warm weather and take advantage of the kayaks and the dock.
We had an amazing time. The property was big enough for us and the being right on the water was like a dream. We stayed while the remnants of a hurricane came through so it was rather rainy, but the day the sun came out was the best! I think we barely left the dock. The dogs loved the trip as well. The life size chess/checkers was a huge bonus! We took a canoe ride and my yellow lab went for his first swim! We made so many amazing memories and the hosts were extremely communicative and timely. Every thing we needed was there (other than what you are supposed to bring, obviously!) I would like to see the listing updated with removal of the hot tub/life size jenga and that there is no laundry detergent provided as it is in the listing as well as to have the info book updated to reflect there are only 2 crab traps not three.
We had a wonderful time!!! The house is beautiful and welcoming, not to mention well stocked particularly in the kitchen. Plenty of activities available on the property and the neighborhood was very quant, ideal for a nice walk with my dog!
The home was clean, beautiful, well stocked. Had every thing we needed. We slept good, We felt right at home from the moment we walked in. The kitchen is amazing for cooking. The property is scenic and so much to do. We spent a lot of time on the dock, fishing, catching crab and saw a gorgeous sea turtle. Mark and Erin are great hosts! Very tentative, excellent communication. We would absolutely book here again.
Erin & Mark are fantastic! We have stayed at their property several times and truly enjoy the beautiful area. They genuinely care about the comfort of those who stay at their property and we truly appreciate them. Great fishing and blue crabs!!!
It was a wonderful relaxing site. Very clean house lots of activities truly outdoor fun. My son inlaw took every game out set them up and we played for days. We charted a boat in Reedville caught 40 fish and had a fish fry. Spent a day at local wineries, and just enjoyed each others company. We had a fire in the pit each night plenty of smores and pure relaxation. Every morning started with a cup of java on the dock. Our 3 night stay was perfect.
Very fun place to stay. Located on the water, crabbing was great right off the dock. Paddle boat and kayaks, lots of yard games available, board games inside. Hosts were very available when needed. House was super clean. This was a great place to stay!
It is a beuatiful home in a secluded neighborhood. It was very quiet and relaxing. Crabbing off the dock was a big hit & brought in some crabs every day. The amenities were abundant, although one of the bikes was missing & there was only a jet tub inside, no hot tub outside like we thought but it wasn't anything we needed anyway. Having water outside to hose off sand or crud on the kayaks would have been nice as well but we made it work. We enjoyed taking our boat out on the river daily & even saw a couple of stingrays one day. It is definitely a place to go if you want to be away from crowds. We ended up going to Colonial Beach one day to swim, which was 1 1/2 hours away. It was a decent place to go.
Unfortunately, the beach close by to Reedville was very small, there were a lot of jellyfish and a lot of seaweed. Hughlett Point was amazing, very beautiful there and fun to explore. And, a cruise to Tangiere Island is a must. We were lucky enough on our cruise to see some commercial fishermen bringing in their haul. Compass Entertainment Center was a hit with our teens. We found that a lot of restaurants and shops open later in the week and there really isn't much to do anywhere nearby. All in all we had a wonderful trip. UpYonda was great. It was very clean, had beautiful views from the house and from the deck, had plenty of amenities, and the hosts were very responsive & helpful. We would definitely recommend UpYonda for anyone looking for a quiet getaway.
