We were in town for a wedding and the location to beach and wedding hotel were perfect, like a 7 min walk to boardwalk! Will be back again! So clean and beautiful!
We stayed here for 5 nights. Upon arrival I instantly looked to see if there was other vrbos around to stay at and unfortunately there wasnât. This is a basement that they turned into a makeshift unit. Itâs musty, humid and dirty. The unit had 2 portable ac units, 3 fans, an air purifier and a dehumidifier to try to make the unit comfortable. All those running has a lot of noise. The ac units have never been cleaned and were caked with dust. We actually cleaned them. The dehumidifier needs emptied daily. The unit is constantly damp. The floor in the bathroom has water seeping through the floor and is always wet. The futon in the living room was broken and you couldnât sit on it. I notified the owner about the futon and the floor in the bathroom right away and they said they knew about this issues and we were working on them. Which is great for people in the future but not for us. The day of you get code and also told trucks and large suvs canât park in the parking space. This should be disclosed in the listing. Parking is tight. Oven is dirty and set off snake alarms while preheating. The pictures are deceiving. The reviews are either fake, written by friends or written when this unit was first completed. It was dirty, damp, musty and totally not worth it.
This property has been beautifully redone. It was also very clean. Unfortunately it is in the basement of a house that is almost 100 years old. The outside of the house is very worn down. The musty smell that hit us upon entering was very off-putting. We immediately knew that we could not stay in a unit with such a strong musty smell. Not only was the smell uncomfortable, but it also made me nervous that it was a symptom of a bigger problem, such as mold. Another issue is the extremely tight parking in the back of the house. To try to maneuver a SUV into the designated spot for this unit if there are other cars already parked, which, in my case, there were three other cars already parked and one was on a diagonal, taking up two spots, it is very tricky and not something that I wanted to be burdened with on a vacation. The owner was extremely unprofessional in text messages, using many â!â, and not addressing my concerns specifically, which made it seem as if they werenât even reading my concerns thoroughly. The owner had owed me a refund for one night that I had to modify for over a month and I only received it back after asking multiple times and finally indicating that I was going to be filing a dispute with my credit card over the charge and contacting VRBO. Unfortunately, this owner is not easy at all to work with if you have a problem with the unit.
The apartment was perfect for us. We even managed with one bathroom! LOVED that it was so close to the beach and boardwalk!
We all enjoyed Rehoboth beach and paddle boarding in Dewey. Fun town prices are very reasonable for rides and you can actually get a descent pre for your tickets in the arcade! (Not so at the Jersey shoreâŠ)
Overall amazing experience. The basement property was plenty spacious for the 6 adult guests we had. Had a quick question regarding check-in and the host answered immediately and was very kind. Walking distance to almost everywhere we wanted to go. was worried about the parking based on some reviews but there was ample parking for my large SUV. Overall 10/10. Thank you!
Clean little basement apartment..3 bedrooms but small living areas and two seating eating table....smell of air freshener was a little overbearing especially if you have asthma or allergies ....the stairs on the way down to basement would be hard if you have leg or mobility problems other than that was ok
Our family really enjoyed our stay. The location is great- close to things but quiet and peaceful. Was worried it might feel damp being that it is a basement unit, but it was not an issue. The parking is tight but luckily the next spot was not taken during our stay. Will definitely consider coming back!
Quiet neighborhood, which is within walking distance to beach and Rehoboth Avenue. Parking is a little tight but doable. We all enjoyed our stay. Even our two 14 year olds,
Property is well maintained, clean, and spacious. I was with a group of 5, and while there are 3 bedrooms, the couch is large enough that it works just fine for sleeping on. The location is great, just a 5-10 minute walk to the beach and boardwalk. The check-in and check-out process was super easy. We tripped a breaker in one of the rooms, and the host was very quick to respond. I definitely recommend this host!
Jessâ property is well maintained and was in a perfect location - two blocks to the beach and downtown Rehoboth avenue. It was a quiet block and easy to access everything. We stayed with our family and our toddler on this trip. As a mom, a few things just for other moms interested in staying here. We had plenty of room for a compact highchair and a pack and play. There were some outlets that we needed to use outlet covers for, as my son could reach them. Again, so close to everything so if we needed to run back for a nap or bedtime, it was easy. The kitchen was great, as we were able to make breakfast and lunches for the beach. The only complaint, which isnât really a complaint, was parking. Itâs a little tight, and had two large SUVs with us. It was a little tricky in the beginning, but once we were in, we were fine. Id recommend bringing one smaller car if possible, just so itâs easier to get in. My only other feedback for the stay is that the AC units were a little noisy, we would have appreciated some more trash bags/toilet paper/paper towels (as six people ran through all very quickly) and we would have liked bath mats in the bathroom. Overall, it was a really wonderful stay and we appreciated Jessâ hospitality!
My four friends and I had the best time at this lovely property! Everything was clean and the space is decorated so beautifully. The location is prime!
Just be aware that parking is a bit tight for large vehicles, stairs are steep and narrow (could be trickier for less abled bodies), and there are only two bath towels provided.
Would definitely return for another stay!
Property was cute, clean, and as pictured and a comfortable size for our group of 5 adults and 3 kids (2 babies). Great location too. A few things worth noting:
Stairs were a little steep so that may be a factor for some. Also the parking was extremely narrow and if there were cars in the first couple of spots, it was nearly impossible to get through so you definitely could not park a larger vehicle here (or you risk either hitting someone or getting blocked in/out of the parking area). We pretty much parked and didn't move the car til we left. We otherwise had basically everything we needed. The only weird rule for a beach vacation spot was we weren't allowed to hang out stuff out to dry. Made it difficult to manage an entire family's sandy clothing and towels after a beach day because even if you rinsed it all in the outdoor shower, you couldn't get all of the sand off this way, and you would still have to bring sopping wet stuff inside of the apartment, rather than letting it dry outside. There was a small drying rack and towel hooks in the bathroom but with sandy beach stuff, you may want to consider a clever alternative solution, especially with a larger group. A larger group should also consider bringing extra bath towels/washcloths/hand towels as those were limited. They did apparently have a laundry area for the building but we didn't see it listed on the VRBO post and didn't know it existed/we had access to it until our last day. But overall, great location, great size spot for what it's for, and the walk to the beach was not too far. Would definitely stay again with these few things in mind to plan ahead for!
