Everything we needed. Easy to find, communicative property manager, well stocked (towels, kitchen, games, water gear.) Dock was perfect, neighborhood is quiet, house is secure. There are business cards of boat captains on the counter - we struck a deal with Capt Joel, he picked us up from the dock and we had a great day snorkeling! We also used the day passes to Mayan Princess which was a nice place to hang out for the day with kids/teens.
The house was a great size, plenty of room for a family of 5. The beds and pillows were comfortable (and I am picky!). I thought it was better than the pictures showed! Access to the Mayan Princess for a day was really fun and then we got to return to the quiet neighborhood in Sandy Bay. Some of our best snorkeling was from the dock of the house, itâs a bit of a swim but our 8 year old did it with a life jacket.
Immaculate, well stocked oceanfront property with convenience to the airport, West End, and Sandy Bay. Sunscreen, bug repellent, pantry staples, beach toys, laundry detergent, and kayaks were among the surprise amenities greeting us. Vanessa was very responsive to the few questions we had. It was a very quiet area and the beach was quite private. The convenience to the deli with lattes a 5-10 minute walk down the beach made our stay even more pleasant. We could have been comfortable in the three bedrooms, but it felt quite luxurious to rent out both the top and bottom spaces. We look forward to returning for our next stay at Roatan!
Spacious home with all we needed for a great stay. The location on the beach is perfect. Deck & screen porch with beautiful views & gas grill (useful in power outage). Plenty of room for 7 adults. Beds were comfortable. The entire house is up a flight of stairs from the garage if mobility is an issue. The living room was generous w/plenty of couch space. The beach extras were nice especially the 2 kayaks which were great for snorkeling at the reef (some of us paddled and some swam - we could switch if someone wanted a break.) There were floaties, snorkel safety floats, life jackets, and a random assortment of snorkel gear. The garage was a great spot to drop all of our beach gear and put towels/swimsuits in the laundry. Well appointed kitchen w/air fryer, toaster, coffee maker, baking sheets, pots and pans, spices/olive oil, etc. We paid for 5 gallon jugs of water ($1.25 each) which Vanessa supplied. Vanessa (prop host) was great with communication and came over during power outage to deliver flash lights and batteries.
Reef and Pier - our favorite spot. It was like a private dock, rare to have anyone else out there. The shady spot to read in between time in the water was great! Some of our favorite snorkeling on the entire island was just out to the right from our pier.
Blue Island Diving - just steps down the beach. They were great!
Be sure to have Miss Deborah cook for you. We had baleadas one night (enough left for lunch) and enchiladas another. So delicious!
This property is wonderful. The beds are comfortable and the house is stocked with everything one needs including extra toilet paper, washer and dryer, kayaks, well stocked kitchen extra trash bags. The screened in porch is a must and the view from the porch is amazing. The dock is a great place to hangout and swim from.
This house was perfect for me and my husband and our teenage boys. The location was excellent. Just a short walk to Blue Island Divers and close to all necessities. Coconuts restaurant, a short walking distance offered good food, entertainment and fun atmosphere.
Vanessa was always available to answer any questions we had. We brought games with us only to find the house was stocked with all the games we brought. Mornings and evenings were beautiful to sit on the dock and watch the Sun, ocean and the many hummingbirds.
Definitely would book again!
Villa Verde was exactly as advertised--and practically perfect in every way. Vanessa was very communicative & amazingly flexible (especially when the airlines did not cooperate with our intended schedule). The beds were comfortable, the house was well equipped & clean, sunset from the dock was gorgeous, the internet, AC, & hot water all worked the entire time. We did not rent a car & did not need one. Easy access to taxis & Blue Island Dive Shop. Prices on the island have definitely gone up since the last time we visited but still a great value (and wonderful people). Would completely recommend this property for families.
We truly enjoyed our stay and visit. The reef was amazing. If you swim from the pier directly straight out you'll find the reef. We would be out for about 90 minutes at a time. The water is so warm and soft and an easy swim. The house is clean and comfortable. We did feed the hummingbirds and left the sugar for the next guests. The coffee pot needs to be replaced and I wish there were actual beach chairs so we could have laid on the beach in the chairs. The grocery store had pretty much all you needed. And we drove to Half Moon Bay and ate at the Argentina Grill 5-8 times. There are beach chairs near the restaurant and they will bring you food and drinks, out to the beach. And the snorkeling there was so good. You'll need to swim to the left or right of the bay, away from the boats. Also, you can park behind the restaurant there. It was difficult to find public parking. We drove down and around the island one day, there was so much litter in the ocean off of Flowery Bay. Very sad. This island is a treasure a real treasure. I wish the leadership would take care of the people there, who are so very kind and gracious. Our hosts have a real gem of a home. Every day the beach was cleaned and at night a bunch of kids played soccer. Delightful.
All descriptions were accurate. Itâs in a very peaceful neighborhood. The reef off the doc is a bit of a swim or paddle, but the snorkeling there is as good as we saw on 11 paid dives / snorkels.
Access to the mayan princess was nice too.
Overall property was nice and listing description was accurate. We chose the location based on diving and original search of area showing plenty of close restaurants. Probably due to Covid, those are no longer open, but that is not the fault of the property owner. Just FYI for future stays. The unit was well stocked and is in need of some minor repairs but everything worked. A/C in all room, good internet, snorkeling equipment and kayaks were all nice. View is amazing.
We had an amazing time on this beautiful island/property. The hosts and property manager were very responsive and helpful. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone, and look forward to staying again sometime in the future. :)
We had a fantastic 7 night stay at the house. The views, the dock, the swimming, and most of all the dive shop just a short walk down the beach. Quiet, comfortable, spacious, with everything you need to relax and enjoy while on a Caribbean island. You could get away without a car but ours enhanced the overall all adventure.
Beach front, large house in a beautiful tropical jungle-like setting! Felt nicely protected and semi-private, away from the tourist-dense areas near West End. 3 bedrooms, along with a large family room/kitchen/dining room. The rental includes the 2nd/3rd stories, while there's a small separate apartment and garage on the first floor. 2 decks on the main floor-- one screened in and one open air, as well as a small balcony on the top story-- all of which have amazing views, esp of the sunsets. The garage has the laundry and beach toys available for use, including the sit upon kayaks and scuba-buoy to take when you're snorkeling. The sandy beach was perfect for little kids, and there are no waves to worry about. As you wade a little deeper, it does become dense with sea grass pretty quickly, but jumping off the dock into the open water was great, and within a short swim, you're snorkeling over incredible coral. The Sundancer community pool was nicely maintained, just a couple of mins walk from the house. There wasn't much in the way of food options immediately available-- the Salty Mango, which was a grill within a short beach walk is now closed, so we ended up driving frequently to West End, or doing simple meals at the house. Very friendly neighborhood, and very attentive and helpful hosts. Definitely recommend this place-- and we hope to return one day!
This is a nice beach nome with a lovely view over the ocean. The water is very warm and protected by the reef, the house is well equipped for housekeeping. There is good snorkelling from the beach but it is a long swim out to the reef, especially if you are going against the current. One day we took a 2 + hour snorkelling trip with Blue Divers which is just up the beach and had great snorkelling in Pristine Bay.
There is no restaurant near the house that is open for dinner. The roads are not great, so we only went to West End twice and to the nearest grocery store which is about 10 minutes in the direction of the airport a few times. It was Easter weekend which is very, very busy. If I ever return to Roatan I would rent the house again.
We could not have been happier with our stay in Villa Verde. The location is ideal from sipping a morning coffee on the open air porch to viewing sunsets every evening on the screened in patio. Though Roatan has good restaurants, many evenings we prepared our own meals in the well stocked kitchen and grilled on the large barbecue located on the patio. There are also several dining tables!
The villa itself is well built, clean, spacious and airy. The many windows allow in the bay breezes throughout the day and evening.
Our hosts, Gary and Mindy, were very responsive to our questions before settling in and provided good advise about the island and surroundings. Once we arrived several repair issues were tended to within a day.
We look forward to returning to Villa Verde.
This place is a gem!
Our family enjoyed the property greatly. We look forward to coming back again soon. The neighborhood was nice and the pier was a nice hub in the evenings. Great stay! Thanks
Wonderful snorkeling. Loved the dock and the beautiful sunsets. We were 6 adults so we rented a car which we were very happy about. Walking along the main road to West End would have been a nightmare. Taxis however are everywhere so getting one is probably pretty easy. Dive shop two doors down was very nice and we went fishing for small fish one morning.
We had a very good vacation.
We had a fabulous time at Roatan, staying in Mindy's house. We loved everything about our stay. The property manager (Vanessa) was fabulous! We had a few kinks to work out (snorkel gear broken or missing and grill not working) and she stepped up each time to find a fix and make our stay as awesome as we anticipated. The house is fabulous, the location is to die for, the views and sunsets were amazing. We have no complaints at all!!! Definitely recommend and cannot wait to return! Thank you thank you thank you for making this vacation absolutely memorable!
The dock was awesome...Snorkeling right off the dock was great!
The home was better than we expected. The beds were VERY comfortable. We will rent this home again on our next visit.
We walked to our Dive Center (Blue Island Dive Center)!
Can't say enough good things about the home, location and the property manager!
