The home is extremely old and unkempt. Upstairs hallway has a whole in the wall. Very dark and gloomy unlike the photos Shades in windows are paper, ancient and ripped- unable to open. Windows and sills filthy.1/8 of roll of toilet paper that they took the time to fold and stamp. Bleach stains on. shower mat-I would've thrown out years ago. The house itself needs a good power wash and paint job before allowing guests to stay. Parking and breakfast adequate. Very overpriced!!
My two-day visit was ideal. Based on my past visits to Roberts Wesleyan University nearby, its superior in proximity and quality to other hotel options in the area.
Scottsville is a small town close to I90 with quiet, tree-lined streets. The guest house is dedicated to visitors and the interior is nicely decorated with up-to-date utilities. Their rooms match the photos included on their website. Parking is available in the driveway or on the street. Sidewalks provide the option for a quiet walk or jog through town. I don't have a pet so am unable to address that topic, however the house does have a back yard.
A bonus is the included breakfast at their cafe down the street. Fresh baked muffins, or ciabatti bread for breakfast sandwiches, can be matched to an espresso drink of your choice. I recommend any visitors to the areas to consider a stay at the Beautiful Valley Guesthouse.
My stay was very short, but in the middle of a 15 hour drive, very timely and comfortable. If I go that way again, I will definitely plan on staying there again
Quaint quiet house. Great communication with the owner who reached out prior to the stay. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom with jacuzzi tub. Easy parking.
Breakfast included was couple blocks just up the street. Wonderful local coffee, pastries, breakfast sandwiches. Locally produced maple syrup, cards available.
Very comfortable stay. The room was clean and spacious. This was great place to stay while taking a class at the Wendell Castle Workshop, just a 15 min walk up the road.
Its an older house. Very narrow stairway up to room. Wifi did not work and unable to watch TV. The pillow on the bed were quite old.
The best part was the wonderful breakfast at their nearby cafe.
I made the choice to get the rm. with the bunk beds because it was cheaper. Not a good choice. Beds were uncomfortable and the upper bunk was hard to reach. We both woke up with pain in our backs.
Very old home that existed when the village was formed, created a very unique experience.
People in adjoining rooms were very noisy after 11 pm. Bathroom sink drain needs to be cleaned to allow for proper drainage.
The room was spacious and very clean! Quaint and lovely! Rachel sent a reminder since I booked it 3-4 months earlier. It was a bed and breakfast also (nearby Artisan) included. Would highly recommend! It was half the price as the hotels during graduation and a bigger better room (King and one twin with attached bedroom).
