Our little group of three had a wonderful time in Rockland. Paul and Molly are lovely hosts, we even received a plate of homemade brownies that were delicious. Their dog, Jacques, brought joy to my day and i looked forward to our daily interactions. We absolutely loved the local restaurants and the convenient location of the house to everything
Wonderful location. Central to the Mid Coast. Though nothing is going to be quick along highway 1, the trips to all way from Portland to Acadia were easy with plenty of nice little towns along the way to stop and walk around. Paul and Molly were great hosts. The place was spacious with all of the amenities that you would want. Would definitely recommend staying there.
Property owner was nice enough and met us in person to let us in and show features of home. Worst part of trip was dealing with Vacasa to get a refund for the stay. Had to have no less than 20 text exchanges and a phone call to resolve getting out of the rental. What we didnât realize until we got into the property was the owner lives on the 1st floor and the rental unit is above. The owner is also a heavy smoker, which permeates into the rental apartment and all of our clothes.
We were in Maine for a girls weekend and the property was perfect for the four of us. There was plenty of space to spread out but has the charm of an old sea captains house. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen has all of the dishes that we needed to be able to eat meals "at home". The property owners are very accommodating and helpful. The views of the bay from the third floor are amazing. The property is close to the walking trail to the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse. We enjoyed the locally owned chocolate factory Bixby's. There are plenty of eating options within a short walk.
Everything was very clean and as advertised, but there were 17 steep steps to access main living area. This rental is not for anyone with mobility issues! The long steep stairway should be mentioned in the description, not mentioned the day before move-in as was the case. Please include a photo of steps with listing so individuals are aware of this issue. I can provide one if not available.
Exactly as described - great layout and views, especially from the 3rd floor, close to water, short walk to town, great location to explore the area. Note: as described, the stairs are very steep and would not be appropriate for someone with limited mobility.
itâs a very nice duplex on the 2nd and 3rd floors. the 1st floor has permanent occupants. Occasionally we could smell cigarette smoke filtering up though the floors or walls. Considering the age of the house itâs understandable that the 2 units arenât sealed off from each other. The house rules state no smoking anywhere on the property. Granted, we think we may have also smelled wood burning fireplaces in the neighborhood or even perhaps the Canadian wildfires. It wasnât bad, but canât give a 5 star rating because of it.
Great central location to everything. My only recommendation would be to either flip the mattresses or change them out. There were some divots and lumps that need to be worked out. Other than that perfect place to stay!!!!!
The hosts were very welcoming and nice. The house is very neat and clean, the kitchen was well-stocked with utensils and cookware (perfect for making meals for our kids), and close to downtown Rockland shops and a small beach where we could watch boats in the harbor. We were there during the heatwave so the ACs were a big plus and kept us cool.
The location was central for us and were able to do day trips to Camden/Rockport, Mount Battie, Boothbay Harbor, Birch Point/Owl's Heads, and Popham Beach.
Highly recommend this place!
Incredible location with beautiful views! My two teens and I had a fantastic, relaxing time in this lovely little section of Rockland, very walkable to town and the Harbor. The owners live downstairs and they were overwhelmingly friendly and easy-going. In fact, my son had hurt his knee and one of the owners (Paul) had an extra pre-packaged knee brace which he gave to us, which not only helped but was a great measure of their kindness and compassion. I loved that the place came with COVID compliant sheets and towels in hospital-grade plastic ready for use. The only downside was that the local rental agency was difficult to get in touch with. It's a shame because they have a storefront right on Main St Rockland, but don't let that deter you. Hopefully, the owners will have resolved it or moved on by the time you get there.
This historic home is amazing! The owners are a wonderful couple that met us as we were checking in, and we talked with during our stay. The views are stunning. The location is wonderful. We took evening walks and walked to downtown.
We would definitely stay here again.
