When our travel plans got moved up a day, we needed a place to stay in Rome just for one night. This place fit the bill very well. Like many older places in European cities, it has its charms, and it has its challenges. We had a bit of difficulty with the key for the door, but after a little while, we realized you just had to turn it really hard to the left to unlock it. The only other thing I’d mention is that the shower is very tight space. We had no problem with it, but a large, plus-sized person would probably find it a bit difficult to maneuver in there. But like I said, it comes with the territory in these older accommodations. There’s only so much space for installing a shower. Otherwise, it was a great stay for our first night in Rome. The location in Trastevere is excellent. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby, and it’s wonderful to wander through its cobblestone alleyways and piazzas. Communication with the host was very good in advance of arrival, and they left some very good information for us in a booklet with recommendations for restaurants and other useful information.
