The hotel was fine but not really worth the money. I don’t think the rating is deserved. Location was good (pasta Urbana across the street was amazing). Staff were very nice, they called us a cab to the airport and came down to make sure we got it. Air conditioner was very noisy and made it hard to sleep. Room was fairly small (although the bathroom was large, almost the same size as the room). We were on the top floor by the breakfast area which was a bit of a pain, they prepare quite early and can wake us up. There is also no entry way so if you open the door you’re practically in the kitchen and anyone can see your whole room. The breakfast itself was fairly disappointing. They only provide one key card which is irritating if you are traveling with someone else. The elevator is very small (standard in the area) and very slow (takes over a minute and a half to go to the 4th (top) floor.

Getting there wasn't easy but once you find it, the hotel was very nice. Very nice staff, fun, safe, lively area with lots of shopping, dining and close to many big sites. Rooms were kept very clean and it appeared safe in the area. Highly recommend. The only issue we had was finding the hotel the first time and in the entry there was a bad smell.

HORRIBLE HOTEL

Hotel was dirty upon entry, found clothes from previous customer, shower doors broken, bugs in the room, mold growing in the shower, breakfast is definitely not worth the 15 euro per person per day, got locked out of hotel for 5 hrs we had to sleep in the lobby of the sister hotel (major hotel) because they were unable to help us until 7am and when we asked our hotel (Relais monti) they could not accommodate us or reimburse us in anyway. Very bad customer service and unprofessional Rooms are definitely not sound proof got woken up to breakfast lady making a lot of noise outside our door

Perfect stopover

Just to confirm we stayed at the smaller hotel - there are two of the same name 50 yards apart. Very friendly welcome and good advice. Brilliant location as could walk from station and then down to colosseum. Restaurants, supermarkets, deli etc. very close.

I was greatly impressed with the cleanliness of the room, it was spacious and well maintained. The receptionist was very diligent and helpful. My only remark is about the staff in the galley on the 4th floor, they were quite loud every morning, which made it hard to sleep in. Aside from that, I highly recommend this place.

I had an amazing stay at Relais Monti. The hotel is very nice. The beds were comfortable, our room was spacious and comfortable, and we also had a terrace which we enjoyed very much. The hotel staff was wonderful. They were extremely accommodating - they stored our luggage when we arrived, they offered an early check in as our flight arrived very early, they called Italotreno on my behalf (I do not speak italian) to assist with a problem I had with my ticket, they arranged a taxi for me to leave at 5AM. There are probably more things I could say, but that was really above and beyond for me. Filipe especially stood out. I thought the cleaning service did a very good job as well. This hotel is located in a great area for restaurants and shopping. It is also conveniently located to the Colosseum and Train station. I found it to be very walkable to most of the major Rome destinations. We also took advantage of the rooftop lunch at the Major Hotel and would highly recommend. The food was very interesting - so not for picky eaters - but it was delicious and the service was top notch. Sincere thanks to everyone at Relais Monti for a best in class hospitality experience!

For the price we paid, this hotel was vastly expensive and offered very basic amenities. The shower had no power, the bed was as hard as stone, the curtains were broken and there was mould in the bathtub. In addition, the lift was so slow that we could never actually use it if we wanted to go and see the city. In fairness the staff were nice and it was relatively clean. The hotel just needs some love.
