Escape to the quiet beauty of the South Hampshire countryside at The Shepherd's Hut at Hilltop Farm — a serene hideaway surrounded by peaceful woodlands and 10 acres of private land. Tucked along a tranquil country lane, this secluded retreat invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with nature.



Set against a backdrop of rustling trees and open fields, this off-grid-style haven offers the perfect base for walking, cycling, or horse riding along the area's many scenic trails. Wander through your own slice of countryside, where a friendly Shetland pony grazes nearby, and the rest of the land is yours to roam freely.



Though it feels a world away, Hilltop Farm is just a short drive from the enchanting New Forest and the historic market town of Romsey. On-site, gather around the firepit for starlit conversations or relaxed outdoor cooking, while little ones discover the woodland swing and whimsical fairy garden.



Your stay includes access to five shepherds' huts thoughtfully spaced throughout the grounds, encouraging a true retreat experience. The charming bathroom hut features a roll-top bath with shower taps for a rustic soak after a day outdoors - there is NO stand up shower. Please note that the beds are cozy and may not suit taller guests, and the second hut offers a small double daybed.



In keeping with the peaceful setting, the site remains a quiet escape — perfect for wildlife watching and forest bathing. While sheep may occasionally graze nearby, and some areas are fenced for safety, guests are welcome to explore the surroundings at their leisure. The access track is rural and uneven, so low-clearance vehicles should approach with care.



Any extra guests must be arranged in advance.



Please note that there is an unfenced pond on site. We kindly ask that children are supervised at all times for their safety.



There is no heating available inside of the huts.

The garden is not fenced off so dogs will need to be monitored/kept on a lead. Pet policy: We love welcoming four-legged friends, but due to the nearby livestock, we can only accommodate small well-behaved dogs
