The view was amazing! The bed & pillows were very comfortable. We slept very well. The homemade bread was an unexpected pleasure. We also love the location because it is not too far from Brevard or Asheville but also close to waterfalls. So peaceful & quiet. Our host was exceptional. Although we only got to say hello when we arrived, we would have liked to talk with them more. They are very nice. Can’t wait to come back when it is warmer & we can have coffee on the patio looking at the spectacular views of the mountains.

Our family had a wonderful time during our stay at Anam Cara. Everything was exceptionally clean and we felt right at home. The views were spectacular as we were there during peak fall color time. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the mountaintop suite! The suite has stunning views from all rooms and the suite was cozy and super clean! A big thank you to Ursula for the delicious, homemade shortbread. The handwritten letter was informative and added a personal touch. We especially appreciated the personalized welcome tray with treats, water and food bowls for our beloved family dog! The ease of check out was a bonus! The area is beautiful, we enjoyed hiking to waterfalls and dining out in some of the local restaurants. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. Perfect for 2-3 people!

We had a lovely six-night stay at Anam Cara and it was a great base for walking in the area and enjoying the delights of Brevard. The apartment is well laid out and very well equipped with everything you might need and more, including the most wonderfully comfortable bed. The owners have provided one of the best information folders we have come across on our travels, and, as well as being very friendly and welcoming, Ursula kept us updated with local developments such as the bear cubs in the vicinity and a passing cycle race that might affect road travel. The mountain views from the private terrace are simply glorious: we would highly recommend this soul-nourishing place.

This property is absolutely excellent. Located in a gated area (security) this rental is the bottom half of a large well maintained home, and if you're concerned about privacy because of that, you needn't be. We didn't hear a sound from our hosts Ursula and Frank, until we invited them down to make our acquaintance. We had a great time talking with them too ---so very friendly and down to earth. On top of that, you'll really appreciate the quiet and privacy they offer. Next...If you want mountain views, you'll have it from every room. A large picture window in the kitchen area actually makes cleaning your dishes a treat, and if you forgot something, its probably in one of the drawers. We took notice to that immediately. The thought they gave to the 'little things". The living area has a very comfortable chair with a massage feature, and a sofa and dining table. And again a nice view of the mountains as well. In the bedroom, there is a comfortable king size bed, and to us, has got to be a California King...its Big. The bathroom has plenty of space and water pressure is more than adequate. One other note about the inside, the one thing that really stood out was that it was absolutely spotless. Now about the outside, you'll have plenty of shade cover if you want it, or you can set the chairs out on the lawn. There is a big firepit with chairs and a picnic table and gas grill. All in all, we would highly recommend this property. You'll be very glad you did.

What a beautiful spot!! We enjoyed sitting outside watching the sun set and the stars come out. We had several meals sitting outside. The owners have gone to great lengths to make their guests feel welcome and at home. We stayed 4 nights and think this would be ideal for a long-term stay. The views from every room are stunning. They have a binder with many pages of useful information about activities in their area, which was especially helpful for our last minute trip. The home is located in a gated neighborhood of large lot properties in easy driving distance to activities in every direction.

The only thing wrong with our stay
. It was not long enough. We hated to have to leave. Owners were super nice and offered every convenience possible. Arrived to homemade bread, that was delicious! The place was super clean and so peaceful and relaxing!! Woke up every morning to a view that left you breathless! We will definitely be coming back.

Spectacular Trip

My pup and I absolutely adored staying here. It was homey, safe, with gorgeous views, and an epic location for hiking. Would love to return! Nice touches like fresh flowers and freshly baked bread. Also having laundry available after all those hikes was a great advantage. Thanks for everything!

Beautiful Oasis

This home is the perfect retreat to the mountains. It had everything you could think of and Ursula and Frank were very thoughtful hosts including a personal note, fresh baked bread when we arrived, and helping us start a campfire after a big rainstorm. They made it easy to have our dog with us. The views were amazing. We wish we could’ve stayed much longer!

The hostess was so helpful. She even had home made bread ready for us on arrival! The rental was immaculate and like our "home away from home!" It was truly in the middle of the glorious Smokey Mountains! What a wonderful view of the mountains! We had a wonderful time! We will be back...

I booked Ursula and Frank's place in the mountains for some dear friends to help celebrate their wedding anniversary. Our friends loved the apartment! The views were incredible, and they said the place was super clean, bright, and airy. They also loved being able to bring their small dog. They said Frank and Ursula were terrific hosts—warm, welcoming, and very responsive. Our friends said they highly recommend the apartment and would love to return. As the person making the reservation on their behalf, I found my experience with Ursula to be fantastic and super easy. It's an all-star spot all around! Higly recommend.

Peaceful mountain stay

This property is the perfect place to rest and rejuvenate after a long week at work or a long hike in Pisgah. The place is spotless, roomy, and well-equipped with all of the necessities you could want. We brought our dog and the owners put out dog bowls and biscuits for her. They even left freshly baked bread as a welcome gift. An absolutely hassle-free weekend with a spectacular view of the Smoky Mountains.

The views are worth it!

The views were spectacular - looking out over the valley was different from minute to minute. The suite had everything that we needed to fully enjoy our stay. Frank and Ursula were gracious and kind. Lots to do in the area - would highly recommend and would definitely consider staying again!

Wonderful time in the mountains

Great hosts. Very thoughtful with fresh-baked bread waiting for us in the kitchen and the wood for a nice fire ready in the fire pit. The apartment was very comfortable and a great size, with everything you need. The views of the mountains and surrounding valleys were amazing. Lots to do in the area with canoeing, hiking and many lovely waterfalls. Evenings were very peaceful watching the clouds and the sunset from the private yard outside the apartment.
