Booked due to high ratings but arrived to a dilapidated building (for sale) with entrance off a gravel alley in center of town. Entry filled with bird poop and glass door. Unit is on first floor and there is no AC. We couldnât leave doors and windows open for security concerns as the unit opens to sidewalk. Furniture, rug and accents were worn and shabby. The kitchen was recently renovated but didnât stay to find out how everything worked. We left after a couple hours as we didnât feel safe to stay. I contacted the host and explained our situation and requested a refund but so far have been ghosted by the host and received no reply. Beware of other reviews for this unit. It looks nice in the photos but looks can be deceiving.
We rolled up a little early on Christmas Eve and just loved the spot with the sun rolling in. As well as Christmas and birthday to attend it was nice to also visit the Polynesian Pools, Government Gardens and walk near the lake all within easy walking distance. Definitely recommend it.
A little alarmed when we saw the block of âflatsâ but once inside we were relieved to find a large modern apartment. Large kitchen, main bedroom all on the ground floor. So close to Govt. gardens, town, restaurants. Parking is at the back using driveway in Pukuatua St
