Roussillon in February

The house and location were ideal for visiting the sights of Provence.The only improvement I would suggest is to improve the quality of the wifi
quite slow when more than one person was on it.

Last 2 weeks of August

Enjoyed a lovely, relaxing final 2 weeks of the school holidays with our 3 teenage boys and 10-year old. We stayed in Le Cabanon and it was perfect. Some relaxing pool days and lots of sightseeing - so much to see in the local area. The owner Francois and his wife Emanuele were very helpful.

Lovely time in Roussillon

We had a lovely week at this property. We were the only guests in a site that would normally accommodate a couple of parties. As a result we had sole access to a fairly sizable pool. François was a very helpful and obliging host and ensured that all was smooth when we arrived on the first day. We spent most of our time at the property with occasional day trips to various sites e.g. Pont-du-Gard, as the weather was lovely and the pool very enticing. The Cabanon itself was lovely and had all the required equipment for a self catering holiday. Would definitely recommend if you are planning a summer holiday to the south of France.

One of the best holiday cottages

This is a gem - set in private woods and glade just a short walk down from the village of Rousillon. The house is historic and beautiful from the outside and modern and stylish on the inside. Perfect for touring Luberon, or just relaxing on the terrace or by the pool.

Peaceful retreat in the Provençal countryside

My family spent a delightful week in the Le Cabanon during July/ August. As the photos on the website show, the cottage has been tastefully renovated using high quality materials. The kitchen incorporates high-end appliances and is well equipped for preparing family meals and there is plenty of dining space inside and outside the house. Despite temperatures in excess of 35 degrees during the week of our stay, the location and construction of the cottage meant that it provided a cool shelter from the intense afternoon heat. Furthermore, the swimming pool was well maintained and the pool deck offers a good mixture of space that has direct sunlight and is shaded from the surrounding forest. The property is ideally situated offering a good amount of privacy and seclusion but is only a 15 minute walk away from the village centre in Roussillon (up a steep hill). It felt safe for our children (ages 3 and 6) to freely run around and explore the grounds surrounding the house. Furthermore, the owner kindly provided the key to secure the swimming pool area when it wasn't in use. The owner and his family, who stay in the larger house within the property, were very hospitable and took care to ensure that our stay was comfortable and advised us on the local attractions. Our security deposit was also returned within a week of our departure. The only drawback of the property is that the cottage lacks a dedicated wifi router and the wifi signal is transmitted from the main house on the property. This was most often an insufficient signal, which resulted in us having to stream data from our phones that also suffered from a weak signal. With all the delights that this charming area has to offer, however, this drawback can be easily overlooked!

Beautiful, secluded cabin at the foot of Roussillon village

This is a beautifully converted ochre factory in the woods outside Roussillon in the Luberon valley; the owner has put a great deal of time, thought and effort into the renovation and all the facilities are of a very high standard. It is described as a cabin, but is more like a detached house, with an open plan lounge/kitchen/diner downstairs and two double bedrooms upstairs. Highlights: 1) As well as Roussillon, the location is close to Apt, Gordes, Lacoste and Bonnieux, and less than an hour from Lourmarin and Avignon. 2) Beautiful en-suite bathrooms - fitted with rain showers - are attached to both bedrooms. 3) It has the best-equipped kitchen I've ever used at one of these rentals. All the appliances are premium, brand-new and full sized. François has supplied an impressive range of utensils, including a coffee maker and a pressure cooker! 4) There is a pool shared with the other cabin, surrounded by some very comfortable loungers. It isn't heated though, so it will be cold in early season. Things to be aware of: 1) If you need an internet connection, the wi-fi hub is located in the main house and the signal here is very weak. There is a strong G3 connection, however, and we found this more reliable. 2) It really is secluded; the approach is along a rough stretch of private road which can be difficult to negotiate towards the top after heavy rain. We found it easier to park half-way up the hill, by the owner's house. The cabin is in the middle of woods, which was an attraction for us, but be aware that it is pitch black at night (although François has strung some attractive fairly lights through the trees to guide you up/down the hill). 3) As is usual for the south of France, recycling has to be carried down to the main road and they don't do glass. 4) It is a walk up a pretty steep hill to get to Roussillon, but it only takes 10 minutes and the views are spectacular. Overall, I'd be very happy to stay here again. The place is gorgeous, the price is very reasonable, François is very approachable and helpful, and it is a stunning part of the world.

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub, in perfekter Umgebung, in einem sehr schönen Haus. Das ist der perfekte Urlaubsort fĂŒr den, der Ruhe sucht. Das Haus ist ein authentisch renoviertes GebĂ€ude einer alten Ockerfabrik mit Loft-Charakter und bietet allen Komfort einer Ferienwohnung. Der gepflegte Pool ist schön groß und und bietet ausreichend Platz fĂŒr die Mitbenutzung durch die GĂ€ste fĂŒr zweiten Ferienwohnung auf dem GelĂ€nde. Die GebĂ€ude stehen aber in einem ausreichenden Abstand zueinander, so dass man immer fĂŒr sich ist, wenn man das möchte. Alle Highlights der Provence liegen in unmittelbarer NĂ€he. Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett, zurĂŒckhaltend, aber immer erreichbar und stets bemĂŒht, einer den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten. Alles in allem, sehr zu empfehlen.

Herrliche Ruhe

Das Ferienhaus liegt wirklich ganz einsam auf einem riesen GrundstĂŒck. Wir hatten GlĂŒck, dass das 2. Ferienhaus nicht belegt war und wir bis auf Wildschweine und Skorpione ganz alleine waren....eine herrliche Ruhe. Das Haus ist rustikal eingerichtet, alles was man braucht ist vorhanden. Allerdings hĂ€tten wir uns mehr als 1 Handtuch p.P. fĂŒr 8 Tage gewĂŒnscht und Bettdecke Duschvorhang mĂŒssten dringend mal gewechselt werden. Ansonsten liegt die Unterkunft fußlĂ€ufig nach Roussillon, wo es auch einen Supermarkt fĂŒr den tĂ€glichen Bedarf gibt. Wir haben die Zeit dort sehr genossen....

entspannter Urlaub in historischer Umgebung

Wir hatten eine sehr entspannte Woche in einer super ruhigen Umgebung. Überall gab es gemĂŒtliche SitzplĂ€tzchen und HĂ€ngematte, gleich neben dem Pool. Besonders hat uns die historischen Ockerbecken und Brennöfen beim Ferienhaus gefallen da uns der Ockerabbau sehr interessiert.

Kleine Oase bei Roussillon

Wir haben eine Woche im Cabanon ( mitnichten ein „Schuppen“, das muss ein Übersetzungsfehler sein) verbracht und waren verzaubert von der herrlichen Lage, der Ruhe, dem rustikalen Charme des Hauses und der Einrichtung und diesem wunderbaren Pool. Es fiel uns jeden Tag schwer uns zu AusflĂŒgen aufzuraffen, weil wir so gerne einfach auf der Terrasse verweilt sind und diese Ruhe genossen haben. Die BuchungsmodalitĂ€ten sowie die Kommunikation mit François im Vorfeld und auch wĂ€hrend des Aufenthalts war unkompliziert und tadellos.

Un coin de Paradis

Nous avons adorĂ© notre sĂ©jour au Cabanon situĂ© au milieu d’un bois mais nĂ©anmoins parfaitement accessible avec n’importe quelle voiture. Endroit trĂšs calme et reposant. Le Cabanon est trĂšs bien amĂ©nagĂ©, cosy et confortable. La literie est trĂšs bonne. François, Dominique et leurs enfants sont Ă  la fois prĂ©venants et discrets. C’était l’endroit rĂȘvĂ© pour nos vacances en famille!

We enjoyed our stay at "the cabanet" a lot. The house was very nice and cosy. The place was defenitly renovated with sense of quality, as was the furniture in and outside. The surrounding, if you don't appreciate that, than you should stay at home. Very good communication before and during the stay. It was the son who was arround. Always available and very friendly. Top location. we will come back.

Sehr schön gelegenes Haus, voller Ruhe mit Pool auf großem GrundstĂŒck

Dank gutem Wetter hatten wir zwei wundervolle Wochen in dem Cabanon mit dem schönen Poolbereich in dem unteren GelĂ€ndeteil verbracht. Da das andere Ferienhaus zu der Zeit nicht vermietet war, hatten wir vollkommene Ruhe und konnten die Sonnentage am Pool fĂŒr uns geniessen. Der Pool ist je nach Jahreszeit auch beheizt. Francois war zum Anreisetag nicht vor Ort und hat uns telefonisch empfangen, erklĂ€rte alles Wichtige zum Ferienhaus, was ziemlich gut funktioniert hat. SpĂ€ter war er mit seiner Frau einige Tag vor Ort und wir hatten Gelegenheit beide kennenzulernen. Die Kommunikation (französisch, englisch) im Vorfeld, Informationen zur Anreise waren gut und Francois war telefonisch fĂŒr Fragen gut erreichbar und kĂŒmmerte sich wĂ€hrend des Aufenthaltes nett um seine Mieter. Die KĂŒche ist mit großen KĂŒhlschrank, Gefrierschrank sowie mit moderner wertiger SpĂŒlmaschine, Kochfeld, Backofen, Mikrowelle, Waschmaschine, Wasserkocher, Filter Kaffeemaschine und allen was man so braucht, gut ausgestattet. Mit der Kaffemaaschine braucht etwas Geduld und könnte beizeiten durch eine schnellere ersetzt werden. GemĂŒtliche Sitzmöglichkeiten mit Kamin im Wohnbereich sind vorhanden. Einige der weißen Drehsessel sind verbogen und wĂ€re mal zu erneuern. Es gibt jedoch genĂŒgend andere StĂŒhle. Zwei Schlafzimmer sind jeweils mit einem Badezimmer mit einem schönen und wertigen Duschbereich im Obergeschoss vorhanden. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefĂŒhlt und wĂŒrden gerne wieder kommen.
