Overall this is a great location. Convenient to near by attractions. The upstairs portion of the house does get a little cold compared to the downstairs, but a few extra blankets on the bed and itâs great! Cheryl was very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay! Would definitely book again.
This is a large home with 2 stories. The home is older and has not been well maintained. Closets are full of stuff and some dressers had clothes in them. We lived out of our suitcases because storage areas were full. The upstairs does not have any heat source except for a portable heater and a fireplace. No wood was provided and we had to spend quite a bit to supply heat to upstairs. The downstairs is heated and the owner said we needed to raise the downstairs heat so heated air could migrate up the stairs and heat the upstairs. We tried this but it became too hot downstairs. There are 2 full baths and one half bath. All need updating. Ceiling heater only worked properly in the lower level bath. The refrigerator was newer but was so large it covers the wall switch for the kitchen light. The stove is a great antique (50âs circa) and works ok but you can barely put 2 pans on the stove surface at one time. There was so much leftover food stuff from previous guests that it was hard to find room for food we brought in either the cabinets or refrigerator. Refrigerator and cabinets could use a good cleaning out. In fact the whole house could use a good decluttering.
What was good about this place. Plenty of towels, lots of games to play, lots of TV channels, water and dryer available and plenty of room to sit. Owner was very responsive but she canât fix the inherent issues with this rental over the phone. For the price you should be able to find a better place to stay.
Owner was understanding and prompt to make us feel welcome. Property was spacious and house was adequately set up for in house meals, along with game room and hiking activities at lake Alto about 6 miles down the road. Really enjoyed our stay, I would highly recommend to families just wanting to get away for the weekend. Thanks once again!!
Very nice place. Owner decorated the place well. We enjoyed the Ruidoso during the day and the pool table at night. Close to everything in Ruidoso yet far enough to enjoy the peace and quite of the nature. Ownerâs instructions is clear and check in process is easy. Owner responded text very quick when I had question. Highly recommended.
Wow! This was the perfect location for our vacation! This beautiful spacious house had amazing views of the mountains, where we enjoyed our morning coffee and evening wine. The cool crisp air and natural landscape of our surroundings made for wonderful hikes too!
The location was so convenient and made for easy access to restaurants, shopping and all of the beautiful golfi courses. The owners of the property were great to work with and very responsive with any questions we had! We canât wait to come back!
We so enjoyed our stay at the Ski House in Alto, NM! It was so spacious, relaxing and comfortable. The cool summer weather gave us a needed respite from the desert temperatures where we live. Everything we needed was provided for us. We cooked, took walks, enjoyed morning coffee on the balcony with lovely views of the surrounding mountains, and ate out at some great restaurants. A wonderful home away from home.
Our family chose Ski Apache because it had more snow than the other New Mexico ski destinations, and we booked only 3-4 days prior to our arrival. The Enchanted Forest Ski House worked very well for our group of 8. Two bedrooms downstairs + two bedrooms upstairs, plus two living areas (one each level) was great. The kids loved the pool table downstairs. Two wild horses roaming the area every morning (came right up to the house) which the kids loved as well. Large kitchen table works very well for group dinners. The house is a not the most modern house, but it is very comfortable with plenty of room to spread out.
