Kanuka Loft, the place to come and relax

This is the perfect private holiday hideaway. Set amongst the bush clad slopes of the Te Wahapu Peninsula, with no neighbors in sight, adjacent to an expansive bush reserve with beautiful views, abundant bird life and only 7 km from the historic Russell Township.
Kanuka Loft is a very quiet, peaceful setting. A great place to come and do nothing, yet with all the Bay of Islands has to offer at hand.
The Loft is above a large disused timber barn. Built with hand milled timber it has extensive decks for outdoor living. The open plan living and dining area is spacious and comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen. There are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with two singles. There is a heatpump for the winter, a laundry and ample parking.
Note: Access to the Loft is by the external staircase only - the ground floor is unoccupied and the Loft is the full second level of the building.
During your stay at this cottage, you're just a quick walk from Bay of Islands. Features include laundry facilities. Enjoy your stay with amenities like a kitchen and a balcony in the cottage.

We loved our stay at the loft. It’s even better than the pictures. A cosy place to stay in winter and would be beautiful and airy in summer. Short drive from Russel. Would love to come and stay again!

Utterly blissful

Very highly recommendable property. The view, the privacy and the birdsong make this place very special. The beds are so comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need. We were welcomed by Anna and Dave who live just down the hill and were very helpful and accomodating. We enjoyed the local bush tracks and the drive to Russell was very quick and easy. This place is a find !

Amazing view and location, beautiful place to stay

We had such a lovely stay, the view is incredible and the house is very clean and well equipped with everything you need. Being located in such a peaceful setting but close still to Russell, we felt very relaxed when we left and wished we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back :)

'A PERFECT HIDEAWAY'

Just lovely. Very welcoming and relaxing. The views are great and beautiful bush all around. Like I say The Perfect Hideaway. Laundry facilities would have been good. Loved our stay and felt sad leaving.

The perfect retreat

A beautifully appointed boutique property surrounded by native bush and stunning sea views. The Loft was well equiped with all the amenities and a fully functioning kitchen. Loved the relaxing vibe and bird song. Would highly recommend.

Secluded Beautiful Property

We turned off the road onto a drive that filled us with anticipation. We arrived at The Loft and were not disappointed. A wonderful upper floor setting with a split level rear balcony giving excellent views. You feel as though you are in the middle of nowhere. Very well appointed and clean - we had everything we needed. Russell is a short drive away and a very interesting place with walk trails, museum and some excellent restaurants cafes. We visited early March. Used the car ferry to Opua a few times - no waiting although could anticipate that may be different in peak season. Have no hesitation in highly recommending this property. As indicated in description there are external steps / stairs to access this property and once inside lounge level to bedrooms / WC are also on a split level.
