This is a beautifully converted barn, completed to a high standard, with a very light and airy design. The brightly coloured hanging baskets and shutters make it a joy to come back to every day. It's comfortably furnished and comprehensively equipped - perfect for either a group of adults looking to tour vinyards or for families like us (there are games, a cot and a highchair as well as the pool). It really is in the middle of nowhere, we mostly had only the lovely creamy limoge cows for company, and were often delayed on the way in by tractors carrying fat rounds of hay away - so if you want a quiet rest in a lovely rural landscape, this is the place for you. The owners are absolutely delightful and struck the right note as welcoming and helpful, but not intrusive. They even offered to let our toddler come and play with their kittens, and to come and collect us at 3am from a local wedding as there are no taxis around - they are a couple who will go beyond the call of duty to give you a great stay. I loved the Dordogne, and we spent most of our time having very long and delicious lunches in pretty little Bastide towns. Foodies in search of peace, this one is highly recommended.
