I traveled from out of state to attend a community event in Salem and brought my family with me. After a long drive, we arrived at Comfort Inn expecting a warm welcome. Instead, we found the main entrance locked and no staff anywhere to help. Despite calling the front desk and knocking repeatedly, we were left standing outside for nearly two hours, finally being let in just before 2 AM. This wasn’t just frustrating—it was unsafe and unacceptable, especially for a family traveling late at night. It completely ruined our first impression of both the hotel and the city.
Once we checked in, staff were rude and dismissive, ignoring basic requests and treating our group unfairly. Worse, other guests were drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes directly under the covered entrance, where families had to walk through, with no staff intervening or providing a safe, respectful environment.
This wasn’t a minor inconvenience—it was a failure in basic hospitality. I will not return to this hotel and cannot recommend it to anyone visiting Salem. I hope management and corporate leadership take these concerns seriously.
