The host was welcoming and a great location. The amenities could have been better; it felt more like an AxBnB than VRBO. Some quick (and inexpensive) improvements would be non-stained towels and washcloths, plushy bathroom rugs, and to empty the vacuum and put it away in a closet so the cannister full of dust and fur isn't in the middle of the kitchen. Also the combo lock on the front door didn't always work so we got locked-in more than once (our daughter came and let us out with the key).
The house was charming and accessible, parking was easy, the decor was relaxing, the bed was wonderful, the street was quiet. We had a wonderful anniversary holiday here.
The host and I had some difficulty communicating, but Lori was very responsive and we found ways around the technical issues.Yes, the house is old. Hopefully with their rental income, they can complete some needed repairs. The kitchen is small, but adequate. And it was nice to have a small family room to watch tv and relax. We felt like we were part of the neighborhood. That's something you don't get in a hotel.
