Nice Stay, but Family Room Setup Could Be Better

We stayed in a family room at NH Salzburg for $450 per night. When we opened the sofa bed to get it ready, there were no linens, no pillowcases, and the comforter was bare. We had to call to ask for fresh linens and an extra towel. If they had at least covered the pillow with a case, I wouldn’t have noticed the stains on it (see attached). It was frustrating because it’s a family room, yet there were only two towels and breakfast for two people. We had already informed them we’d have an extra person and were willing to pay, but it didn’t seem to be reflected in their system. Because of this, we were even stopped at the breakfast area. I don’t mean to sound picky, but having to ask for so many basic things made me feel like a difficult guest, which I don’t like. Guests can be demanding, but I don’t want to feel like I’m the “diva” asking for so many things. Otherwise, the room itself was comfortable, and the location was fine. Overall, I’d give this hotel 3-4 stars, but I hope they can improve on preparing family rooms more thoughtfully in the future, especially considering the price.

No bellman, and when you enter a bar is directly in your face, no parking at hotel, bathrooms miniscule and it seems it has had a lot of traffic, visible on carpets and some walls. But at least clean and the staff of the breakfast team and the breakfast itself are amazing

We were pleased with our stay, the location was great, walking distance from everywhere & but quiet & slept great. The room was on the 3rd floor with not a great view but we were hardly in the room so it didn’t matter. The beds were VERY comfortable & the a/c was a blessing. We thought the coupon for drinks in the bar if we didn’t want our room serviced was a brilliant idea. We usually don’t need ours cleaned & had 8 coupons which worked well for us. All the staff were courteous, professional & helpful. The only real negative was the cost of the breakfast which we found expensive so we ate elsewhere very morning.

Stayed a few years ago and now recently again for family city break. LOCATION: Location has always been the draw - quiet enough to rest and sleep but close enough to explore the city on foot. ROOMS: Starting to show signs of age on our recent stay. Curtains falling off, safe didn’t work the whole time there, poor water pressure in the showers, towels small and poor quality. STAFF: Bar staff very friendly and helpful. Interacted really well with small child we travelled with and was accepting of the noise and chaos they create. Reception staff could be better in welcoming guests to the hotel and more willing to help when requests are made. BREAKFAST Good choice of food at breakfast of good quality but often ran out of hot food with a long wait for food items to be replenished at times. Overall a good stay had but with comparison to stay a few years back the concern going forwards is that the quality provided will drop.

Excellent breakfast, convenience and service!

Enjoyed our stay at NH. The breakfast was excellent -- so many options! The room was clean and the staff was responsive, professional and friendly. Online check-in and check-out is hassle-free. It was within walking distance of the train station and attractions. My only suggestion would be softer bed sheets. While I slept well and the bed was comfortable, the sheets did feel a little rougher/scratchier than I prefer. We will stay here again the next time we are in Salzburg!

Have stayed in a few NH collection properties and they always exceed my expectations. Staff were wonderfully hospitable, friendly and polite. Hotel is within walking distance to the town area and the walk is a scenic route passing through the lovely walking bridge. Only issue with the hotel is the tight parking and entrance…. It’s pretty difficult to drive in.

Communication wasnt good. Told breakfast went til noon. Not true. Time changed multiple times during our stay. Told if we didnt have room cleaned we got two "drink" vouchers for bar. Not true. Just beer or soda. Were told this after 6 drinks. Told bar was open til midnight every day. Not true. Came back to hotel for a drink and bar was closed at 7pm. Not a big issue, but just tell guests what the deal is. Staff was awesome! Very noisy hotel in am. Cant sleep much past 730am.
