Embassy Suites San Antonio Riverwalk - Not Good

I had to bring my own luggage - get a luggage cart myself - to my room. Lots of stuff. Hotel - reconstruction process. Didn't check me in until exactly 4 p.m. Room - very musty, moldy smelling. Next morning - valet line rang and rang. No one ever answered. Only 1 person working.

Wife and I stayed here Sunday/Monday in mid-February. Had nice suite on 12th floor with 'view' of Riverwalk. I say 'view' rather sarcastically since there is a very narrow portion of the walk that snakes through the backyard of the hotel, surrounded by other high-rise buildings and alot of concrete. So while the 'view' wasn't ideal, we did have a nice balcony and the room was very quiet, clean, and comfortable during our one-night stay. There are some to-be-expected signs of wear-and-tear on the furniture and in the bathroom, but nothing out of the ordinary for an older facility. Staff was quite friendly and efficient, location was absolutely awesome for us (we attended an event about a block away at the Majestic Theatre), everything is pretty much within an easy walk. Property rates a solid '4' (would have gone to a '5' if not for the ongoing lobby construction mess and the previously-noted minor condition issues).

The staff was very friendly, Gave us free wifi, and always helpful with questions. The location was the perfect walking distance to the main attractions. it was in a quiet area, but right on the river, and places to go eat and sightsee right out of the front door. Clean, and well kept.

Son’s birthday getaway

Everything was great! Our son enjoyed the hotel. The Happy Hour drinks & snacks were a hit with our kids. The breakfast was great the next morning too. We would definitely stay here again. Parking is expensive, but that’s the norm in downtown San Antonio.
