Based on signage the hotel used to be Rodeway. Not sure if that was recent or not. It is a little outdated and in need of some TLC. It is servicable though if your not going to be in your room much and only there a couple of days. No perks. Just a place to lay your head.

Do not stay here.

Just do yourself a favor and pay the extra money to stay somewhere they don’t nickel and dime you. I’m the most cleanly persons you’ll ever meet and the middle eastern women who runs the place asked about a tiny pink mark on the pillow and a random screw that was missing from the door? Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Just don’t stay here. San Clemente has way better options.

I liked that it was quiet and the room amenities were good, except for the small-screen TV. The bathroom was recently renovated. The need for maintenance of the exterior of the property and our room was noticeable. Piles of old mattresses, ongoing roof repairs and the peeling paint in our room create a poor appearance.

The hotel name is not Hotel Avenida as listed in Expedia or Google! The name on the building is Roadway Inn. According to the hotel staff the name was changed to Roadway Inn long time ago.
