Overall, great quiet stay! No frills, nice accommodations and great location. Check in process was virtual and seemed odd at first, but no issues! Would stay again!
Pros:
-Great, safe location in the city
-Close to great restaurants, bars, coffee and shopping
-Firm (but comfortable) beds
-Clean room and bathroom
Cons:
-There is no atmosphere controls in the room. There is one thermostat for heat for the whole hotel with a portable AC unit in room.
-The portable AC is attached to the window, creating a small gap which makes street noise very audible. Was fine with ear plugs.
-Room was very small, but thats to be expected in SF.
Check in was interesting as you hit a Ring doorbell and then check-in via video kiosk with someone in the Philippines. They scan your ID and I think its $50/day security hold.
Hayes Valley is by far the best and most central area with minimal screaming crazy homeless people. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Really enjoyed my stay (5 nights). The virtual check in process was quick and smooth. The room and bathroom were very clean, good mattress and comfy pillows and comforter. The location is excellent âclose to bus stops and amazing restaurants. Will likely come back.
Hotel description did not include relevant details such as no option for early check-in, steep stairs without elevator. Check in is done by kiosk with video input. There are no keys. Access is by PIN code only, requiring photo of kiosk screen.
The door was broken to the bathroom, the lights are insanely dim and unhelpful. They tried to double charge me for my stay and check in took 20 minutes. They argued with me at check out about early check out?? Finally they were extremely hard to get a hold of at any point of time.
The room qualitied and amenities were above what I would have expected for a hotel at this price point. Enjoyed my stay. My room was on Gough street so it was a little noisy but with the windows closed it was no big deal.
This was a great stay!!! There's a video check-in and then you get a code. Clean room, large powerful shower and I had a private patio attached to the room. Highly recommended
It took approximately 40 minutes to check in using their virtual service. Even before checking in we had to call the number listed by the property several times before being let in the door. The service they use for check-in is very insecure as well, with the agent leaving the screen unattended with key codes to every room in the hotel. Would not recommend this experience; we were left frustrated.
The people we met were friendly. We arrived 2 hours early and were allowed to sit in the waiting area until check in time. Free coffee and water cups provided. The kiosk check in was a little confusing because it was hard to hear the clerk. The room was very clean and comfortable. We were inside the whole time as I was prepping for a medical procedure at UCSF in the morning. The place was about 10 away and that made us grateful. Finding a place to park was a real challenge. The area was a bit sketchy. The pizzeria across the street was yummy. My husband is a bit disabled and we were in a room on the third floor with no elevator. The stairs were hard for him. We had an okay time there.
