To be honest, I was very disappointed upon arrival. Your listing and pictures did not match what we walked into. At first, we had trouble opening the front door to the main house and the door was very difficult to open at the back house. The entire property was under construction With a 3 foot trench and piles of dirt with nails and screws all over the ground in the backyard. That made it very unsafe for the children to be around. There was also a smoke detector, not installed in the hallway of the main house which worried us if we were safe at all. The hot water in the showers were scolding hot. The water temperature needs to be regulated to a safe temperature on your water heaters. The pipes also were very noisy inside of the walls when water was ran. The fixtures were in poor condition throughout the entire house. There were outlets that had no screws, loose or broken frames, exposing wires and making it dangerous for children to be around. The kitchen faucet also had a shower head attached to it in order for us to wash dishes. You should not be operating a business out of your property until all the construction is complete and all the upgrades are complete. Either we want a full refund or at least 50% back of what we paid you to stay in your property. Also, the location of your property is in a very poor area. You did not advertise you were right near the exit of a freeway. I will say the sheets and the towels were in good condition, but thatâs it. Shame on you
There was food underneath the bed when we arrived. It was covered in ants. My son removed it. The next day 2 beds were covered with ants as well as their luggage. Also, we were asked if a handyman could come by and fix the screen door and a dishwasher. We asked if he could wait until our stay was done because we weren't comfortable with someone being there when we weren't. They assured us that he would come after we were gone. However, the next day while we were out all day, a person came and fixed the screen door. When we got home, the door had been fixed and was left unlocked. The host had very little concern for our complaints.
This property is falsely advertised as a 5 bedroom house. In reality it is a 3 bedroom house with a separate two bedroom guest house in the back. The pictures made the inside look like it had this nice size kitchenâŠit was very small. We all stayed (6 of us) in the bigger house but there was only one tv that worked in the front room (which was the size of a bedroom)âŠit had a table and uncomfortable metal chairsâŠ.yet this was where we spent most of our time because the âbonus roomâ which had couches, did not have a working tv. The house had very limited cooking utensils, one towel per person onlyâŠso good thing we didnât get one dirty! We had to buy our own papertowels, no vegetable peeler..we had to buy one, and the only can opener was broken..bought one of those too! The cabinets were rickety, the floor was warped and gave in in places. The house had one neighbor so close that if you opened the window when going to the bathroom (there was no screen) you were often eye to eye with the person next door. Next door to that neighbor was a homeless encampment! Needless to say we will NEVER stay here again.
My colleagues were traveling to Redwood City for a large scale art installation and were looking for a comfortable home base for restorative downtime after work. Our installation was going to require 2-3 weeks time so we thought a spot that would allow for group meals and team bonding would be less isolating than a hotel.
Pros:
- The location was close to our job site.
Cons:
-The description does not clearly state that this unit is really 2 separate units without a communal living space outside of the kitchen so it had more of a hostel vibe instead of a home.
-Our team didn't have the back door code so an unidentified rodent crawled in while we were unloading our luggage.
-The beds were hard and the linens uncomfortable.
-The outdoor space was uninviting.
-It is situated on a busy road so backing out into traffic was a daily challenge.
That being said I imagine this unit would've been fine for a shorter stay, just not ideal for our purposes or length of stay.
Standard accommodations lots of beds for our group. The neighborhood is quite lively so there may be a bit of partying going on in the wee hours. Parking wasn't easy but we made it work.
Lovely space in Redwood City! We were a family group of 9, and the accommodations fit us perfectly! We did not cook much except breakfast, and we found everything we needed to do so (plenty of pots and pans, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, etc.) Beds were comfortable (all size Q and one twin). We especially enjoyed having a private outdoor space to enjoy the beautiful weather. There is not much space for everyone to come together (kitchen table seats 4-5; sitting room seats around 6), but this worked well for us as we were out and about much of the time. Although not fancy or luxurious, this space was clean, comfortable, and well cared for. Would stay here again if the need arises in the future.
Excellent house for sleeping. Short on space for communing in the evening. Kitchen nice. Wish there had been a few more bowls, pots and baking dishes. Overall all, convenient location. Parking is a challenge.
