Check-in: online key didnât work but got physical key. Kitchen facilities: they told me via text there was a fridge in my room, but there wasnât? Ice bucket but no ice machine lol. I did enjoy the tea and water downstairs. Transport access: Used st. Maryâs parking (affordable) and lucked out with street parking. The radiator started leaking randomly, they swiftly moved us to another room but the view was into 4 other peopleâs rooms and lacked privacy.. so we fixed the radiator by turning it on a bit and that helped the leak and noise and stayed in our original room. Would stay here again and recommended to others. Pictures are of the view from the room and some nearby street views.
Thereâs no A/C. Some of the rooms have in-room showers, but some do not. There bed was super old and very thin. Itâs neat and historic, but not somewhere I would return to.
Perfect location, clean and well maintained. Love the connection to Harlan Records only downside, keys worked intermittently and only with one phoneâŠand that was a little stressful.
This is a boutique hotel in an old building and I enjoyed my two week stay. Not all rooms have a refrigerator, so make sure you confirm. The help I received during my stay was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable. Taking strolls in Chinatown after work was a nice wind-down from the day, as well as the nearby restaurants (check out Leleka, Today Food, Nomu & the ice cream shop around the corner). If old buildings arenât your thing, find something corporate.
This property saves time using an electronic key, which is glitchy and there are not staff to assist much of the time. The elevator is old and has a heavy gate which was hard for my family member. They have emergency numbers listed to help and never answered either. Was able to get the key to work but with much risk to be stuck. The last day I had to help a person in a wheel chair leave the hotel because the mobility door wouldnât work, he would have been stuck backing up to a road with a hill at great risk as there were no staff on a Saturday at 11 am to assist. Stay here at your own risk, not for the mobility impaired, and donât arrive late.
Itâs in a fantastic location and was easy to get everywhere from there. Chinatown was basically just outside our door and Union Square a 5 minute walk. We walked to pier 39 in about 25 minutes and to the cable car turn around in about 15 minutes. Literally everything was so conveniently close. Itâs no 5 star but definitely a 3 star and we enjoyed our stay. Crazy old cage elevator if you canât do stairs and the stairway is narrow and steep with a hairpin turn at the top. We truly enjoyed our stay there. We are not fussy people who need all the conveniences of a 5 star hotel either.
We stayed one night here since we needed to be close to the airport for our ladt night.Centrally located and short walk to China Town and Fishermans Wharf. Cool artwork in the room plus the overall accommodation definitely give a NYC vibe - definitely recommend!
Loved the character of the hotel! Art murals were amazing and really added personality to the vintage building. Everything was spotless and organized! Really pleasant stay! Thanks for having me!
Nothing fancy, but it did the job. There were a few bugs (nothing crazy) and the walls were very thin, but the room was basically clean and comfortable. Check in was easy and I got to check in early at no extra charge. The price is great though: would recommend for the mid-picky traveler who wants to avoid the SF hostels.
Room was very cute and quirky. Unfortunately, the TV wouldnât turn on. At first I was on board with the clawfoot tub but actually using the bathroom was a challenge. Shower curtain kept billowing into water stream/my body and there didnât seem to be any way to keep water off the floor. Room was also hard to regulate the temperature. I would say this room would be great if youâre younger and not spending much time there. I also feel like the picture shown on the website is the best of the best of these rooms.
