Beautifully located, safe, with great staff and facilities for the price. There are also 9 lovely cats hanging out around the property - the owner's pets. Peaceful and quiet location - perfect for staying away from the San Pedro tourist strip.

We were not sure what to expect when we arrived and still had to walk with our luggage along a pedestrian walkway from the street where the tuktuk dropped us to the hotel entrance after arriving from via ferry.
However, we really enjoyed our stay here and appreciated its location and quiet location while still being conveniently located. The rooms are basic but clean. There is a lovely balcony on the top floor where you can enjoy views of the lake as you bask in the sun. The staff were friendly and helpful and gave me a phone number of a driver to hire a private car back to Antigua.
I also enjoyed the convenience of refilling my water bottles from the large bottled water dispensers, as well as renting a kayak from the hotel for only Q20.
The hotel is also located near laundry service for Q7 per lb and we highly recommend checking at the Thermal Spa and Tami’s massage located less than 5 min away.
If you are looking for a quiet place to stay on the beach, I recommend Mikaso.
It´s a very nice place lake front with beautiful views from two terraces, one with umbrella tables and the other with sunbeds. Nice, ample and clean rooms. Quiet, no TVs, no A/C (not needed), abundant hot water. Beds a little hard, comfy pillows. Delicious restorant Gato Perdido. Not for handycap persons, steps everywhere.

Basic hotel with amazing views
It was very reasonably priced and they were able to find us a decent room after they messed up our reservation. The bedding is very basic. The hot water in the shower only works for 1 minute at a time and the shower flooded the whole bathroom.
The views of the lake were fantastic. The restaurant was pleasant with yummy pizzas. There was a nice deck with a pool table and hot tub. The location was quiet but central.
This was a beautiful hotel with wonderful views of the lake. The room was clean; bed was very comfortable; it was very quiet. The restaurant upstairs had great food and overlooked the lake. The staff was helpful. There was a discrepancy in the Expedia price and the hotel price and the manager honored the Expedia price. I would highly recommend this hotel.
My only complaint would be with the guide recommended by the hotel for the hike up Indian Nose. He was a really nice person with lots of enthusiasm, but we did not actually go to the TOP of the mountain! For some unknown reason there were other hikers up there, but our group was not allowed. If I had known we were not going to the top, I would have booked with another group.
But the hotel was great - I would love to retire there!
It was on the quieter side of town, where it's extra beautiful and magical. Still lots to do and eat, and great bars but less loud & super young like the other side. Had more of a community vibe here. The view is beyond spectacular from the terrace, super close to the volcano and right on the water. Beds were comfortable and the whole place is quite beautiful.
The view from the terrace in front of our room was divine, absolutely jaw dropping stunning. But the hotel itself is in desperate need of some major cleaning, renovating. Bathroom was dirty, towels tattered and stained. Definitely not 3 star even by Guatemalan standards. It is more an upscale backpacker hotel. If you want a great view try for room 9 or 10.

Better hotels elsewhere.
Good price for the hotel but the hotel was fairly lifeless and the staff were very poor, barely smiled at all. WiFi non existent for large parts. Restaurant nice but quite expensive.
The guy who runs the restaurant on the top floor is great and full of useful info. The Saturday buffet brunch is a great deal with really good food (the made to order crepes and omelettes were great). The hotel has one of the best views for sunrise.
We were very happy with our choice at mikaso. The roof terrace provides amazing views of the lake and is great for watching sunrise. Not many hotels have this facility. We liked it that the hotel was a short walk from the action and was nice and quiet at night. Would stay again.
A good stay for the price, however some improvements are needed. Terrible pillows and sheets, the rooms are not thoroughly cleaned (dead animals/insects on walls), the shower is cold and no toiletries provided. A shame as this hotel has a great location and excellent potential.

Thanks for the great service!
Hotel shows it's age but it has one of the best views in San Pedro. The staff are attentive, friendly and helpful. Hotel has two terraces from which to relax, eat, drink, and/or take in the view. Showers are electrically heated--not the strongest pressure but they work and are warm enough--which means that they are at the whim of the Hotel's power. During our trip there the power was out for about 7 hours, but this was the case across San Pedro so there was nothing the Hotel could do about it. If you visit, be sure to chat with Tz'utujil staff!
We stayed here for two days and only had hot water the morning we left. Staff could care less about anything but checking reservations and accepting payments. Very disappointed in them.
Our room smelled horrible! There was a distinct moldy smell and no matter how long we left the windows open it still reeked when we got back. The hot water only worked with very low pressure, and it had the worst wifi I experienced in all of Guatemala. Choose a hotel closer to the dock, they are much nicer!
