My fiancé and I booked a one-night stay at this hotel in Santa Barbara for our wedding, and while the front office staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, the condition of our room unfortunately fell far below expectations.
When we checked in, the staff at the front desk were friendly, the office area looked great, and after we mentioned that our wedding was the next day, they even gifted us a complimentary bottle of wine, which we truly appreciated. The woman at the front desk pointed us in the direction of our room, and everything seemed off to a good start.
However, upon entering our room, we were immediately met with a foul smell. The rugs underneath the beds were dirty, there was a large black spot by the fridge, and later that night as we pulled the curtains closed, we noticed red stains along the bottom. The chair in the room was also extremely dirty the arms were black and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time.
The bathroom was also concerning. There were visible mold spots on the ceiling of the shower, which made us even more uncomfortable.
Trying to sleep was difficult. The bed sheets had a strong, unpleasant odor, and I couldn’t have the blankets near my face. When we unfolded one of the extra blankets, we found a brown stain on it that was questionable. It was incredibly disappointing and unsettling, especially considering this stay was meant to be part of our wedding
