The house was perfect for our family of 7 and 2 babies. It was very spacious! It exceeded our expectations. The extra room/garage further added to the feel of the house having a lot of space. The location is perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would def stay here again if and when in Sb again!
Absolutely wonderful 24 hours in this lovely home perfect for our family gathering celebrating a milestone birthday. The pool table in the garage was such a wonderful feature. Easy to walk to coffee and grocery store. Beautiful location quiet neighborhood excellent stay! David was a responsive host via text and we appreciated his quick communication when we had questions!
Surprisingly spacious, but dated, floor plan. Kitchen was awkward and lacking in basic amenities, but otherwise adequate. Very few cleaning supplies. More instructions needed (oven, garage door, and washing machine all not intuitive to operate). Neighbors were noisy and nosy. Apartment upstairs was unexpected. One shower was dangerously slippery. Drapes did not provide privacy.
This property worked out very well for our weekend stay for our sonâs wedding. House had everything we needed, including a Keurig coffee maker and a French press. We mostly came and went between wedding weekend activities, very quick drive to DT Santa Barbara and the coast.
Large enough to gather some family for the in between times. Two driveway parking spots and street parking is available, which was nice to have also. Very good & quick communication when needed. Would definitely stay here again!
âąCommunication with our hosts was exceptional, check in-easy.
âąLocation is GREAT! Walking distance to variety of essential stores, beach, parks, and restaurants, even downtown if you want to get a few scenic miles of walking in.
âąPrivate driveway large enough for parking 2 compact cars and manual front gate closure.
âąQuiet, safe neighborhood and nice neighbors.
âąHouse was comfortable and roomy for our family of 8.
âąKitchen has just about everything we needed (minus a blender if youâre morning smoothie people like us-2 smoothie places
a block from the house though). Great stove!
âąBedrooms are roomy and as shown. Queen beds were comfortable (wish we had brought our own pillows though).
âąBoth bathrooms are decent size to accommodate all of us. Plenty of towels, strong water pressure and hot water.
âąGarage has a pool table!, great washer and dryer, and plenty of room for storing rental bikes.
âąBackyard was our family pup, Cooperâs room. He seemed to be very happy there and cruised in and out freely.
âąWe didnât use the backyard, outdoor dinette, or the barbecue-too busy enjoying SB.
âąWe love the location. Itâs a neighborhood with family friendly Mesa folk, lots of neighborhood locations for strolling, bike riding, surfing, beach walking/running, and sunset viewing.
Great location, comfortable for large family/multi couples
We stayed two great nights at the Mesa house. Loved its walkability to the Mesa steps and beach as well as restaurants and grocery/drug stores. Backyard was pleasant, too. We enjoyed gathering around the kitchen table as we always do :) While we didnât cook there we noted the well stocked kitchen. Eight minute drive to downtown!
Absolutley perfect location, roomy house, fun pool table. The only thing I would say needs work is the fan in bathroom doesnt work and theres no window so it gets steamy! Minor and Im sure not a regular thing. You can walk to the best grocery store (Lazy Acres) and other stores as well, also walkable to beach. We had a great time. Would not hesitate to book again if we are coming back to the area.
We very much enjoyed our stay at La Mesa House. It was big enough for our group of six, and sometimes 8. It was clean and stocked. Loved the pool table in the garage.
And a bonus for us was that there is a 240 step walkway, within walking distance from the house, down to the Santa Barbara beach where we watched local surfers on the water and dogs playing on the beach.
To top it off, Eliza and David were great to work with and kept in contact all the way through. Thumbs up to La Mesa House!
The house was clean. The tVs were all working. Never needed the AC. Nice to have a pool table. Beds were comfortable. Great location in Mesa neighborhood.
The backyard was unusable. No backyard maintenance. Missing major kitchen utensils. We had no bowl for salads or colander (who doesnât eat pasta). No wine glasses (not even stemless). The lighting was very dim in most rooms with almost no light in the dining room. The kitchen was well lit. There is an upstairs apartment that we were not aware of.
So maybe if you are college kids the place would be ok. Perfect for spring breakers.
We had a nice stay while visiting family for the holidays. The pool table in the garage was fun. House was clean when we arrived. Beds were comfortable. Steps to the beach at Mesa Lane. A good grocery store an easy walk at Meigs Rd.
The house was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. The neighborhood has everything you need with grocery stores, convenience stores, restaurants all within walking distance. Also super close to state street. Highly recommend!
A nice, affordable, closer to the beaches large (8 person) property in Santa Barbara. Lot cheaper than a Marriott courtyard but as good or better. Very responsive host.
No large skillet, no colander, no measuring spoons or measuring cups, no place to hang your washcloth, hand towel or bath towel. No instructions on how to use TV. No "upon leaving" instructions. Nice house, back yard needs a clean-up and some TLC.
