Everything was good until someone used the restroom. It was really loud. Every time someone on the near rooms used the restroom, it sounded even louder that when we used the restroom in the same room. If you are a light sleeper, this is not a good choice.

The place was cute and in a great location. But we ended up checking out a day early. We heard so many kids running upstairs starting at 6am. The staff seemed annoyed when I asked questions. It just wasn’t a great fit for my husband and me.

They charged a fair price for a clean room and a continental breakfast with good Danish pastries. Nothing super special, and on a cold night, we wished the weatherstripping on our room had kept the chilling air out. Fun to see Solvang and its unique buildings. We'll keep Solvang in mind for other trips down to LA

Beds uncomfortable, sharp wooden pointed ends of the bed sticking out ~ hit our chins several times with and without the foam guard that continued to fall off as we hit it each time. Our telephone did not work to make calls out. The staff was apologetic and reassured us they would be fixed for next guests. Overall place was in a nice area, clean and walking distance to town.

A Bittersweet Stay

A bittersweet stay. This quirky hotel is showing its age, sadly. Rooms, once charming, now feel tired: worn furniture, water stained walls and ceilings, threadbare towels. The mattress? Stiff, leaving us achy. The breakfast is basic, the coffee...well, avoid. Yet, the staff are genuinely kind and responsive. Location is prime, Solvang at your doorstep, wineries a short drive. We enjoy the outdoor fireplaces and birthday wine touch. However, for the price, fresher, cleaner options exist. A real shame, given its past charm.
