Clean and new, quiet, close to public beach access

Very clean, seemed almost new. Home was quiet. Was as pictured. Easy walk or drive to the beach access. Kitchen was stocked with necessities, but would need more pots/pans if cooking for a crowd. Beds were comfortable. Linens and towels were ample and fresh smelling. Needed better lamps for reading and needed better side tables in living space and upstairs bedrooms for drinks and books and phones, etc. Would have appreciated hangers and would have needed more coffee mugs if you had a full house. Large square table was awkward for just three of us, and dining chairs were short for the height of the table for us, even though we are average to tall in height. Game table and chairs would be a good addition. All in all we were very pleased.

This property was perfect for our family of 5 staying here for spring break. The house was clean. Quick easy walk to the beach. On windy days where we wanted to stay back and not walk to the beach, we had a nice pool to use. We plan to come back next year.

Family Wedding on the beach

As advertised. Plenty of room and we loved the bedroom/bathroom set up. Only suggestion is to have a full length mirror in Master Bath and one other location upstairs

Family vacation

This house was spotless,stunning.Close walk to the beach and town.The kitchen and bathrooms had stone floors,counters,showers.The pool was small but nice.But,the dishwasher left the dishes filthy and wet.The kitchen was poorly stocked,no strainer.The lg skillet was ancient.The dryer made intermittent loud noises.The master bath’s sinks were clogged and it was dark in there.There was no binder of info on attractions,beach entrance,or restaurants.The paper towels and TP were cheap.We had to take batteries out of one remote to put in another.Now,we did not contact the property manager because this is the only week in the year we are all together.This property could have 10 stars if it was properly maintained.

Property Owner Too Controlling

ocean Reef was excellent to work with, they made everything super easy. House could have been cleaned a little better, issues with ants in the kitchen, floors needed to be swept. Couch was dirty with stains and just needed to be cleaned or replaced. The owner was very controlling. they would call ocean reef because we had the AC on 69 degrees and they didnt want it to go under 72...your house is in FL? i dont live in FL and dont keep my house that warm, not to mention it was the hottest day of the year! The owner had a timer on the TVs they would only work at certain times. Loved Ocean Reef but did not like dealing with this particular property owner. For as much as i paid i should be able to stay in the house at a comfortable degree and watch TV when i want. Owner is controlling, makes me wonder if they had hidden cameras in the house? will not be staying at this property again, despite the house being very close to beach and perfect size with a heated pool.

Such a great place to stay

The house was beautiful, big and spacious, walking distance to the beach, and nice community. The ONLY complaint I have as well as the other that stayed with me is the pool is much smaller that it looks in pictures. Other than that, everything was great.

Beautiful & Close to the Beach

This house is perfect for anyone traveling to “Destin” with a family or group. It is very big and spacious and new! You do not have to worry about anything being outdated here! It is in true walking distance to the beach. We were a party of 10 with 3 kids and we all walked back and forth to the beach with the bag of sand toys that they provided. The beach was gorgeous! And despite you entering through a public beach access, it was not crowded, just the perfect amount of visitors to give you space to relax and play on the beach. Our family planned to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner at the house and let me tell you, the home was fully equipped with everything you need to cook which made life so much easier. If you don’t plan on cooking you will be in walking distance to various restaurants/bars. We did communicate with the property manager once and they were prompt to respond. We are all very happy with this home and definitely plan on returning!

Incredible home

This home exceeds expectations. The beds are comfortable. The pillows are all that foam material so if you don’t like them take your own. Plenty of towels. There’s a beach wagon and lots of sand toys. No beach towels so take your own. The fridge dispenses water and ice. There’s a traditional coffee maker and a keurig. Note- as apparently with all fairly new properties there’s an egregiously ear splitting alarm whenever you open the door to the pool, so unless you have someone on the inside to open it for you, you can forget about enjoying a late night quiet dip! There’s also a high pitched alarm that goes off at 5am every morning that I couldn’t get to the bottom of (heard in the master bedroom) and the air con runs really loud - heard upstairs - so if you’re a light sleeper you will definitely be woken up. It’s an easy 5 minute walk to the Ed Walline beach access; there is public parking but unless you get there super early there won’t be a spot. There are literally NO supplies in the kitchen -:as in things like basic condiements, coffee fillers, all the usual stuff people leave behind that accumulates- so take EVERYTHING you think you may need. Publix is a 5 minute drive away

Fast Get Away

We just celebrated our 44th anniversary a couple days before and decided on Saturday to see if any place was open to get away for a few days. We came upon this house and it was available for 5 days so we grabbed it. We normally would stay in Destin, but we figured the price was just too good to pass and we would try Santa Rosa Beach. The house lived up to the pics and beyond. Property was very clean when we walked in 2 hours early thanks for the updated time of check in. Nothing disappointed us on the house or pool. With only the two of us we only used the down stairs, but the whole house would be perfect for a large family. The pool may be on smaller size than we are used to, but worked out great anyway for us. The only drawback we had, and I'm sure most wouldn't mind was the lack of eating spots in the town itself. They have a few tourist trap restaurants which is understanding but at a very expensive price. We did one of them and that was all we needed, we drove into Destin to have the rest of our meals. The beach area we went to was very nice, but very crowded too. Only a few minutes walk from the house, if you take more than just towels you might still want to drive to it. Overall we would highly recommend this home to any family, but would say bring twice as much money for eating if eating in Santa Rosa Beach. For us the drive into Destin for lunch or dinner at the normal name restaurants wasn't a big deal.

Easy walk to beach!

Pool is small but such a nice perk and only takes 5 minutes to walk to the beach. I also loved that the state forest trails were very close to the house. Took several runs through the woods, it was lovely on a hot day.
