4 day stay

The property was nicely located and convenient. The pictures of the house on the website did not really represent the actual condition of the house. Several amenities and features were outdated inside and did not accurately represent what we were paying for. Quite a few of the beds were outdated, and the mattress needed to be changed; the bed comfort was subpar. Especially on the second floor, particularly the bedroom on the left with the Queen bed. One side of the bed had a big dip, and you would sink it. Bathrooms have never been updated since the house was purchased. The access to the TV and internet was very difficult and not user-friendly at all. Where the pool table was located, the room was way too small, and we could not play properly as the queue stick kept hitting the wall. One of our guests wanted to play guitar, and there was a string missing..lastly, the ice maker from the fridge was not functional, and it would constantly make a terrible noise.

Eight college friends who met 60 years ago had a wonderful stay at the home. Very spacious with 6 bedrooms & very comfortable beds for everyone. The decor was fine but not nearly as nice as presented in the pictures. The yard & pool area was very nice. The kitchen was lacking many cooking & serving items. No pot holders, only two dish towels, no saran wrap, baggies, foil. All in all, a great place to stay for a large group.

Poor cleanliness and false description

Property was in a great location for us and a very nice neighbourhood however the description of the property was poor and the cleanliness was very poor. Rubbish left lying around by the pool area. All bikes but one broken. Table tennis table broken and house in need of a deep clean.

Overall a great stay - just a few issues

This house is great for large groups who don't mind sharing a bathroom (5 bedrooms upstairs with one bathroom). The location is excellent - lots of amenities close by and an easy drive over the hills to Calistoga. The living areas are bright and the kitchen and seating area plus the bonus room near the back porch were quite nice. Given the time of year we didn't get to enjoy the pool, but it looked lovely. We had a few issues while we were there - gas leaking from the key area to turn on the fireplace. It was disappointing that we couldn't use the fire place for our visit as the weather was cold and rainy. Also the showerhead broke on the first morning when someone tried to adjust it for their shower. Lastly, since there is only one thermostat control, it was either too cool in the downstairs bedroom, or too hot upstairs. For all of these issues, the property manager Stacy, responded quickly and was so friendly and nice. While they couldn't fix the gas leak while we were there, Stacy dropped off flowers, sparkling wine, chocolate, and popcorn which was appreciated. She also responded quickly to our call about the shower head and replaced it right away with one that worked the rest of the visit. Lastly, when we mentioned the temperature challenge, she was able to grab a space heater from her car which we set up in the downstairs bedroom to make that room comfortable enough for sleeping. Overall our visit was great - with just those few issues that were handled as well as could be.

Lovely Little House for Girls Getaway

We rented Clementine for a bachelorette girls getaway in November and it was a great little house for our group of 7. The kitchen and dining area were perfect for gathering and having coffee in the morning (as well as the cute sunroom!). The living room had a nice set up for all hanging out together, although the couch was not the most comfortable. All bedrooms were similar and had very comfortable beds. The number of bedrooms was impressive for the size and cost of this house. Having only one (dated) bathroom upstairs was a little tough, but this was clearly outlined in the description, so not a surprise. Additionally, there was a slight ant problem in the bathroom but nothing concerning or major. Additionally, the description said there was a hairdryer, but we could not find it. Overall the house was the perfect layout, location, and size for a group of 7 working on a bit of a budget, while still being cute and clean. The location was great for traveling around the Napa and Sonoma area- all wineries that we went to were within 45 min. The Avant Stay management company was also great at communication. Definitely recommend!

Great home for large friend group

The house was great! Plenty of space for our group with the 6 bedrooms. I would say the only "inconvenience" was that there is only one full bath on the second story where 5 of the bathrooms are and the other full bathroom is in the master bedroom. But that's just a slight. Beds comfortable, plenty of seating options around the house for hanging out, playing cards and having dinner. For a nice walk each morning, we frequently visited Colleen's coffee shop, which was really great and Colleen is lovely as well. Avantstay manages the property and had some great little touches like a welcoming box with a bottle of wine, throw blankets at the edge of the beds, plenty of board games and entertainment, soft towels, etc. Highly recommend.

Greatest vacation home

Great affordable stay for larger group

The check in process and response from AvantStay was fantastic. Location is great if you’re exploring Santa Rosa or Sonoma but wasn’t ideal if you’re planning on going into Napa Valley often. Upstairs bathroom could use some work, but otherwise the home is in great condition. Kitchen and dining area were fantastic for a large group and outdoor space is beautiful.

Good place for a family gathering

Lovely home in Santa Rosa. And abundance of bedrooms and beds for large parties. It served us well for a family gathering. We could visit wineries and go out to many good restaurants in the area. It would be even better in Summer since there is a pool. There were few issues. One of the bedrooms in particular has too much air flow making it very hot in the winter while the rest of the house is normal temperature.

Great location to wine country and home for a large group

We needed 6 bedrooms for our group and this fit the bill. Two bathrooms was a little tight in the morning, but we made it work. The lovely outdoor space was perfect for our evenings and dinner at home. We were 15-30 from all of the Sonoma wineries, and had easy access to grocery stores, downtown Santa Rosa and anything we needed!

We had to catch the rats and mice that were eating food in the kitchen that was sealed .

there was no internet, burnt out light bulbs in bathroom that had no window and no replacement bulbs, no toilet paper, and most of all every night there were rats in the kitchen and large mice in addition. They ate through closed store wrapped food that was up on top of boxes on the island and one of the kitchen counters. We eventually caught a large rat and a large mouse on the last day and night of our stay. One " bedroom was made from a wall being put up in a hallway at the top of the stairs. could not walk around the bed in any direction. That was pathetic. Three of the"bedrooms" DID NOT HAVE A CLOSET. a clothes rack in one of them was broken and flimsy. The house was extremely expensive and we are demanding a FULL REFUND. This place was horrible and VRBO AVANT STAY has not granted our request. Not only would I not use AVANT STAY we are damanding VRBO and AVANT Stay REFUND OUR STAY IN FULL along with an apology

Nice place... But mice

The house easily fits large groups. Lots of parking and the pool is great. But we were warned before we arrived that zero music is allowed outdoors due to a neighbor's complaints, which seemed extreme. Also, there are mice, which we notified the manager about.

Areas for improvement

1. House Temperature: The house got uncomfortably hot in the evenings and made it difficult for elderly guests and young children to sleep. Please consider providing stronger fans in each bedroom. There was a portable air conditioning unit in the master bedroom on the 1st floor but it was useless because it was blowing way more hot air out the back than it produced cold air out the front. 2. Cleanliness: We found one dirty coffee mug and one dirty wine glass (with wine still dripping down the side of the glass) in the kitchen cabinet so before we used any of the glassware, dishes, & cutlery, I ran the dishwasher the first day we arrived as we were not sure how clean the remaining items in the kitchen cabinets were. 3. Towel shortage: Please provide a floor towel in each bathroom. Since there’s a pool, guests would come in with wet swimwear and step out of the shower causing water to drip on the floor which made it a slipping hazard, especially for the elderly guests. There were 3 bathrooms and only one bathroom had one small floor towel. Since we had 14 guests & exactly 14 bath towels and 14 pool towels were provided, we had to sacrifice a couple of towels to use on the floor which meant we had to do a couple loads of laundry just to wash towels during our stay. 4. Carpet stains: There was a trail of stained spots in the carpet in one of the bedrooms.

Beautiful home

We were a group of mom friends gathering for a weekend away from our kids. We booked last min after a non VRBO property cancelled hours before arrival. It was the perfect way to relax for a weekend by the pool. The beds are super comfortable and the house has an upgraded kitchen that was wonderful to prepare meals in. The management company was super responsive. Highly recommend this beautiful home. Thank you for having us!
