This was a poor experience. Roaches in the room we received. Too many to sleep comfortably in there. We were offered an upgraded room. Although we could tell it was newly remodeled and had not been used, there were also roaches in there. At this point, all other hotels in the area were sold out, so we had to cancel our stay and weekend plans. We requested a refund due to the property's condition. Something completely out of our control. Almost a week later, we have only received a partial refund and are still trying to get a full refund.
The rooms are way outdated. We had cockroaches all over room in the early morning. Bathroom was small & toilet is way low. The rooms are outdated. There was a tv mounted on the wall with a tv on a stand in front of that worked. Went to office in the morning after fighting cockroaches and asked for a discount. The employyee said he could not. We asked for the manager and he told us this was Florida we have cockroaches. He would not call the manager and said he could not give discount. We had to ask for him to put a comment in for the manager which took multiple times to ask fo. He was very rude and condescending towards us. Finally put comment in. We walked out door when the person who I was with made a comment outside not towards him. We walked almost back to our room when he came yelling at us to watch our language. I told him to calm down and asked what he was talking about. He continued to yell at us and tell us to go to our rooms. I looked at him and said thats where we are going. You as an employee should never go after customers who have left and escalate a situation. He continued to yell and I told him to go back to his office or things would get worse. The hotel is a run down motel 6 surronded by homeless people walking all around. I will never stay at a days inn again.
Building is worn down and is in need of renovations. Safety latch on inside of door was missing. Breakfast did not have any hot items. On a positive note, the attendant in lobby was very friendly and courteous. Also, beds were comfortable. Price was reasonable.
After seeing and smelling the poor condition and mold in room 104 to 201 we had to cancel the reservation after we saw the condition of the other room as well. Rusted shower smelly room etc. We told the front desk agent to cancel and refund our payment immediately. He never even said sorry but insisted he can't refund our payment. I even have pictures of the deplorable conditions of the room.
The property felt like a Section 8 housing neighborhood. Homeless people sleeping outside across the street, overrunning trash receptacles, just an overall feeling of watch your back. I wouldn't have gotten out of the car if I were a woman by myself. I came to Florida, from the upper Midwest. I was excited to have a pool. But it was closed, and the water was green. It would have been nice with temps over 90º the whole time. The room was fairly small and had a mildewy smell so I was looking for a place to sit outside. There was plenty of property between the parking lots for a picnic table or some chairs. However, the only 4 chairs available were locked behind the fence of the closed pool. You get what you pay for. I needed to save money so that's what ended up with
It was dirty, holes in the walls stuffed with toilet paper. Duck tape holding down the carpet. Duck tape all around the door lock inside and outside. The pool was filthy and you couldn’t swim in it. Had to call to have towels brought to our room and have the bed made. Even after calling they did the same thing the next day. The shower was dirty when we got there. The trash outside was piled sky high. The ice machine had stagnant water in the bottom. The pictures on the internet sure weren’t what we got. This place was just plain nasty. Needs an enormous amount of work.
