Less Than Pleasant Hampton Inn Stay

When we first accessed our room, the door, obviously, needed to be sanded down or a sliver cut off because it was hard to pull open and it made a loud noise each time we entered/exited the room. The plumbing in the shower/tub would not turn off completely. When we were packing to leave, I found that the door to the refrigerator had not completely closed, so I had to toss out what I had placed in the frig, a loss of about $50 in food. (I recognize that was probably my negligence?) When I was checking in, I mentioned that I had booked this room due to it being pet-friendly and we were traveling with our dog. That automatically bumped up my room fee $50. I should have kept that info to myself as my husband and I always used a side door, so the front desk would have never seen out dog? I asked to use the business center and was told they had eliminated that service. Lastly, I have never stayed in a less that desired Hilton hotel until this one.

Great customer service

Got a rocky start when our requested room was not provided. Seeing a trend here with Hotels.com potentially not communicating our room preferences to the hotels. Clerk was polite and very helpful and got us the correct room quickly. The room was okay clean. There is a lot to be said about cleaning behind bathroom doors and caring about a huge stain in the sofa bed mattress. Linens were sparse. 2 of each type for three of us. No mattress cover was given for sofa bed. With stain that big should have had one on there for sure. Room air was good.

We have handicapped family members and, since the elevator was out of service, we were forced to carry handicapped family members up and down stairs. When we complained, we were told the non-functioning elevator had been on the website for two weeks. No, it is not. A complaint has been filed with the ADA and the Disabled Veterans Organization

Decent for an overnight stay but, not more than that for us. It was convenient to I95. Beds were good but sheets felt old. I would probably try another hotel in this area next time we travel to that area. Staff was friendly and check in was fast. Breakfast was like any other breakfast included hotel. OK but not terrific. The coffee was excellent.

I’ve stayed at the Hampton Inn many times and I’ve stated this one many times everything was perfect except the elevator wasn’t working but manager on duty or the lady behind the desk found me a room on the first floor. She was very helpful and the cleaning staff took care of my room right away, so all I can say is terrific
