House Schmitten - Davos
The Accommodation
The family-friendly house is located in the village of Schmitten in the canton of Graubünden. The location is at an altitude of 1300 m on the connecting road between Davos and Lenzerheide. The Albula Valley, which is situated in the nature park "Parc Ela", is framed by a beautiful, distinctive mountain landscape. In summer as in winter, there are diverse opportunities to relax actively or simply in peace.
The house has four double bedrooms, a living room and two kitchens, three wet rooms. Two bathrooms are equipped with shower and WC and one with bathtub and WC. One bedroom offers overnight accommodation for up to two additional persons with an additional sofa bed, so that a total of up to ten persons can find space. A terrace and a balcony are attached. A garage is located in front of the house. Further cars may be parked on the public car park (150 m away) in Schmitten. The large kitchen is equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. In addition, there is also a wood-burning stove.
For an additional charge, dogs are welcome.
The environment
Schmitten (Albula) is directly on the PostBus line Davos – Lenzerheide-Chur. The PostBus stop is 5 minutes' walk from the holiday apartment.
The idyllic ski paradise of Albulatal in the canton of Graubünden invites you to a winter holiday with its magnificent mountain landscape. The ski areas of Davos, equipped with modern lifts and first-class slopes, as well as the ski regions of Lenzerheide/Valbella (known from the FIS Ski World Cup Final) and Savognin are each approximately 20 km away and quickly accessible by car or PostBus.
Both in Davos and in Lenzerheide, there are also opportunities for other winter activities, e.g. ice skating, curling, snow walks, etc. The sledging paradise of Bergün is also about 30 minutes away.
Directly from the front door, you can undertake diverse hikes and walks in the summer. For example, you can hike from Albulatal to Arosa or enjoy an impressive mountain panorama when descending from the 2,865 m high Rothorn in Lenzerheide. The not-too-distant towns of Tiefencastel (approx. 10 km away) and Filisur (approx. 6 km away) are located on the railway line Chur — St. Moritz and are express train stations of the Glacier and Bernina Express of the Rhaetian Railway. Before Filisur is the famous Landwasser Viaduct. In the Albulatal, below the village, the thermal bath with sauna landscape and the adjacent 9-hole golf course in the sub-municipality of Alvaneu Bad offer relaxation. Water enthusiasts will get their money's worth at a small bathing lake in Savognin. Active holiday lovers are also catered for with a wide range of offerings, e.g. mountain biking, paragliding, etc. Moreover, Schmitten is an ideal starting point for varied motorcycle tours.
