Perfect for a family vacation

This house was a luxurious amount of space for our family of 5. The children enjoyed the nice view out of their bedrooms and the hot tub as well. The kitchen and the game closet were very well stocked. One unexpected thing was that the upstairs living space/kitchen got really warm. Had I known I would have packed more lighter clothes, but overall it was an awesome stay. The location/vicinity to the beach and the park worked out really well for us.

Perfect for multi family getaway

Annual trip with group of friends from high school. House was perfect for our group, and close to other rentals where friends stayed. Beautiful view of ocean from the top floor, and a short walk down to the beach. Can’t wait to come back.

Shining Sea House is a shining example of Sea Ranch at its best

This property is a gem! I hate to give it such a good review because then everyone will want to stay here. Shining Sea house is the cleanest, tidiest, most well stocked house we've ever been in (and we've been staying in SR for over 40 years)! The owners clearly care about this property and their guests because everything was in good working order and there are games, puzzles, books and movies to entertain if needed. But the views are spectacular and the location is prime (right in the middle of Sea Ranch and walking distance to our favorite beach AND the park)! We cannot say enough positive things about this place. We will definitely be back if its available!

Perfection

Our stay at this amazing home was nothing short of amazing! I have never rented a house with a more stocked kitchen. Everything you can imagine is available from spices, teas, appliances etc. each room was clean and comfortable. The master bed is a memory foam which was a wonderful surprise. The hot tub was excellent too! I would definitely stay again!!

Great location

Great house with all a family needs for a comfortable stay. Easy check in and out. Very clean and well equipped. Nice short walk to shell beach, which is great for kids. Nice hot tub with amazing views of the stars at night. We had no complaints.

Excellent place

The house was beautiful! Well stocked and amazingly remodeled kitchen. Lots of attention to details, well labeled drawers for kitchen items. Rooms were cozy and relaxing. Love the multi level floor plan especially with kids. Great game cabinets. Love that all the tvs had clear instructions on how to use and had streaming for movies. Easy walk to the beach. Would definitely stay again.

Beach Get Away

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely sea ranch home. The house was clean and my children loved seeing all of the wildlife around us. My only suggestion would be to get a baby gate at the top of the stairs to make the home more family friendly. We were constantly worried about the steap stairs.

Great getaway.

Lots of positives. Clean, well organized ( everything is labelled with clear instructions). Modern , well equipped kitchen. Living room is a little dated, clean and comfortable. Would go there again. negatives ( not a deal breaker) could have used more bath products. Kitchen could use some Saran wrap and foil ( if it was there - we could not find it). Thoroughly enjoyed.

Nice house but uncomfortable beds

Most things about this house were great except for 2 things: 1) The twin beds and queen bed in the 2 bedrooms need new mattresses since they are OLD 2) The septic system needed work since the kitchen smelled like garbage even though the kitchen was clean

Peaceful getaway

This was our second time at this property. Awesome kitchen and living room, dining area. Hot tub on the ready. Gets cold at night particularly the master bedroom and bath. Close to Shell Beach, trails and Gualala and Ohlson recreation center. Sea Ranch Lodge is newly open which is a great place to have a meal, stop at the cafe or shop. Two Fish bakery at Stewart’s Point is awesome too.

Fabulous house - frustrating communication

This property is beautiful, and the house is well-appointed with all the amenities you want. I want to leave a better review, as this one is not really about the property but the Grand Welcome Vacation team and customer service. They were very rude to my parents on check-in for trying to get their welcome packet 15 minutes early. Fine, not a big deal. A big deal is that my husband left his laptop at the property, which they confirmed they located the day we left. We agreed to pay shipping, associated fees, etc, but two weeks later they have completely stopped communicating with us and we have no idea if they still have the laptop or will be sending it. Phone calls ring and ring, texts are not responded to, I'm completely at a loss of how to get in touch with anyone in order to retrieve our property which they (hopefully) still have.

Excellent Accommodations at Shining Sea!

We have now stayed at 7 or 8 different properties at Sea Ranch, and Shining Sea is definitely one of the best, maybe the best of the lot. The kitchen is first rate - recently updated and with pretty much everything you could need available. The bathrooms were also modern and clean. It rained a lot during our stay; and the house is set up well with three TVs and space to spread out. The only downside is that the room with double beds may not be great for adults, but ok for kids. Also, there are plenty of stairs which may be an issue for some. On the plus side, the Jacuzzi may be the best I have ever been in. I'd go again and enjoy!

The total package

We have rented many properties in Sea Ranch and this place takes 1st place. The location is great, near Gualala and both recreation centers, and walking distance to Shell Beach and meadow trails. The living room, dining room and well appointed kitchen are on the top floor with great views of the ocean and the sunsets. The bedrooms are on the first floor and had very comfortable beds. There is low pile carpet throughout and the decor is minimalist, modern Sea Ranch style. The spa was just off the master bedroom bath and very clean and spacious. The only down sides were some wear and tear of the windows and screens (hard to open and close some of the windows, one screen was broken) and the master bedroom shower temperature dial needs to be tightened up - it kept drifting into the hot zone as one takes a shower. We didn't use the laundry room but it looked like the washer was new. We would rent here again.

Beautiful relaxing stay

Perfect Sea Ranch Getaway

Had an amazing time at this property. Kitchen was fully stocked with what we needed to make meals, everything’s was clean inside and we enjoyed the well stocked game and puzzle closet. The only thing that could be improved upon was some animal droppings on the upper deck that were there when we arrived.

Beautiful modern home

Six of us were there to celebrate my 80th birthday. The home is modern and beautiful, set a short walk to the ocean and beaches. Anything you might want in a kitchen is supplied. We have rented many Sea Ranch homes over the years and this one rates highest! A warning to all renters at all the homes…close all windows at night to frustrate the acrobatic and resourceful raccoons.
