We had to leave after one day because of the intense fragrance on all the fabrics. The smell made us nauseous, gave us headaches, and tightness in our chests. The smell woke us repeatedly at night and attached to our clothing, so even when we left the house we were still smelling the fragrance. This was hugely disappointing and I suggested to the owner/property manager to refrain from using products that have a smell, as many people have very strong adverse reactions to fragrances. She was surprised by this fact and stated she had never had complaints before.
Other problems were the plethora of extension cords snaking along the walls, around corners, and under baseboard heating. Seems dangerous. The check-in isnât secure, which is unsettling. The key is hung outside because the owner/property manager doesnât want to get a battery for the keypad lock. The front and back door locks are flimsy. This is unsafe. The front and back yards are unusable, as they are engorged with overgrown plants and are being used for furniture storage.
The owner/property manager admitted to being neglectful of the property, apologized and gave a partial refund, but only after my insistence and a long email on all of the problems we encountered spending one night in the house.
